Booked the Two Night New Year Package which I have just come back from, as always The Big Blue was absolutely superb, the staff are as always so friendly and professional but there are a couple of criticisms, the second night was no where near as good as the first, I did expect the NYE event to be better than the new year's day but not quite such a difference. The first night was superb, the food was excellent, the staff and atmosphere was excellent, the DJ was great. The second night, was not as good, the buffet food was nice, a decent enough selection but the atmosphere was poor and the entertainer was essentially just doing very basic kids games all night. The atmosphere was very flat. Breakfast every day was excellent as always. The room was great, we were upgraded to a deluxe double which was nice and roomy however we were unable to watch any TV the entire time as there was no signal, we were told this was due to the weather. Overall the stay was great, a solid 9/10 the slight disappointment was the new year's day entertainment, especially in comparison to the NYE event which was excellent. Credit to all the Big Blue staff who are always friendly, professional and hard working.

stayed here for a night in Dec , what a absolute joy the staff were so friendly and nothing was any trouble The room was immaculate as was the rest of the hotel ,Breakfast was one of the best i have ever had. The room was so comfortable and homely with views of the Pleasure beach , and lovely and warm all night. We can not thank the staff Enough , and will definitely be back in the new year

The best thing about this hotel is its location. Being able to head into the Pleasure Beach from the hotel was amazing! All of the staff we encountered were great too. I paid for a family room for myself and my son so that my son had an area just inside the main door as I'd seen that they had bunk beds there. What you don't know, or i possibly didn't read, is that these bunk beds are very small and only suitable for children under 8 years old (In my opinion). My son is 14 so he ended up sleeping in the single bed next to the double bed in the main living space which was fine but I could have paid for a twin room and saved some money. The room was really clean but a little tired. It is the only hotel room I've ever stayed in that didn't have any electrical sockets at the head end of the bed. Beds were really comfy though and the aircon worked really well. The buffet breakfast was okay and what I was expecting. Overall, I would stay here again but only if I was visiting the Pleasure Beach again.

You know what? I was surprised. Don't let the gaudy blue colour scheme put you off. Lovely rooms, with temperature control. Staff are really friendly and welcoming. It's right by a tram stop, or if you're driving it's straight in off the M55 via Squires Gate. Easy peasy to get too, but it's a ways from the rest of the resort. Only niggles are: 1) The bog in the room is too close to the sink so you bang your elbow on the bog roll holder when you're sat having a dump. Also, the bogs don't flush properly so needs a couple of goes to get it clear... the bog roll stubbornly remains. 2) If you're parked at the back of the car park it's a trek to get round to reception and then on to your room. Especially annoying if you're in the rooms at the back in the "new" wing and you can see your car there out the window. They have a side door, but it's locked. Would recommend for business stays and if you want a comfortable hotel near to but not within the bustle of the main resort.
