Modern cosy accommodation, everything what you need you will find there. Bonus is romantic balcony and terrace. Metro station is close, so as shops, good restaurants and entrance to the Vatican city. Owner is very polite and she will try to do her best to make a perfect holiday for you.

Worst B&B ever !!! Stay: 4 days (July 2019) Lying and money-hungry owner (Marcella). Negative points : - Worthless breakfast (see photo) : the owner continued to claim that no breakfast is included when you rent the 3 rooms (full apartment) : apparently this would be the custom in Italy (she insisted on "Italian law"). In the confirmation e-mail of our reservation, however, "daily breakfast" was clearly stated. - Air condition problem : 1 room ran continuously in the coldest position (the owner blamed the previous tenants that they had broken the air conditioning). If we wanted air conditioning in the 3 rooms, we had to pay for a technician : the owner indicated that a phone call to a technician would cost us € 200. Consequently we were only able to use 2 of the 3 rooms during our stay. At the settlement we had to pay them all 3, while we were not aware of the defective air conditioning in advance! - Daily cleaning : when we arrived we were able to determine that the terrace was very dirty. The owner's explanation was that the cleaning lady had not turned up that morning. Our confirmation email of the reservation stated that there is a daily cleaning : during our stay there was no cleaning at any time, so we also had to provide toilet paper ourselves. - Problems with the sanitary facilities : an old apartment has been converted into a 3-room (with separate bathrooms) apartment : the pipes of the shower and the toilet are connected to a grinder “broyeur” and this in every bathroom. On our 2nd evening, the water in the shower ("Blues Room") no longer runs off and the dirty water suddenly comes out of the toilet. We immediately called Marcella as the bathroom was completely flooded. To prevent this water from running to the rest of the apartment, we had already placed our towels at the entrance of the bathroom. Response from Marcella : this was our fault, she starts shouting on us and calling us names ("I'm not your maid"). She blamed the children for throwing something in the toilet, and when the children denied this, she shouted that someone had certainly thrown in sanitary towels. She became more and more aggressive, while we urge her to remain calm. She immediately wanted to put us out on the street (at 10 pm !) and said with a smile that we would certainly not find a place to sleep since everything in Rome was fully booked. She wanted to recover the repair costs of the complete bathroom on us and this would be a cost of € 1,000. We decided to help investigate the cause of this water problem and after some plumbing we found that the engine was only working sporadically and therefore nothing had been thrown in! The hysterical owner first claimed that she had never had any problems with the apartment in 5 years and that this was the first time this happened, but when we found that the grinder was broken, she came up with the story that this was the 3rd time within 6 months. - Payment reservation b & b : Marcella claimed that in Italy it is customary that you pay your entire stay upon arrival. We had already paid an advance, but apparently this was not sufficient for her : we had to pay the full amount immediately (even though, due to the broken air conditioning, we could only use 2 of the 3 rooms, very poor breakfast, no daily cleaning, ….). The day after the incident with the broken grinder, we paid for everything, but we did not receive any apologies for her rude, haughty and aggressive behavior. - Various : towels were like sandpaper (not put in a dryer), mattress ("Rock Room") was very bad and old. - The photos with food and drinks shown on the Big Johnny B website are not real : the fresh fruit and vegetables or some drop of alcohol were nowhere to be found. - Conclusion : the promises made in the reservation e-mail of this b & b are all empty promises !
