Honestly though it was decent. Owner was friendly and kind. Place was very clean. The tatami was comfortable. Good location very close to Kyoto station and some good restaurants. It's not luxurious, but if you're a young traveller on a shoestring budget like me it's great!

This place is managed by a stingy Chinese lady that has made what is supposed to be a house for a family into a 10 room hotel. The rooms are tiny and the futons are thin, I might as well been sleeping outside on the floor if not for the walls. The bathrooms are tiny and the lady would not give us extra futons to pad our already thin bedding. Not only that the lady kept telling us to turn off the taps properly and watched us like a hawk while we stayed there as if we were kids. Honestly if you want to sleep it's not worth to save your money by spending the night here.
