We just returned to South Africa after our Portugal experience! What a country with such nice folk! Maria and Staff, and Flash!! the puppy, we're super nice and helpful. Great stay,very comfortable, very organized clean and quiet. Great location to explore Lisbon Thanks Maria! Thanks Portugal!

It was very disappointing the check in process. The check in in this guest house was from 3-7pm(just 4 hours, not the most convenient one for travelers) and there was "a possibility" to request a different hour. In my case I could be at the hotel at 9 pm and my request was rejected. I tried to ask to wait for us 2h or to find another way to check in(self check in) but they answered me there is no such option, I tried to call atleast 3 different phone numbers provided from booking or Google but neither of them they answered. In the end me and my mother had to search for another room for that night without getting any refund for that night of course and on top of that my request to check in on the next morning instead of waiting for the check-in hours starting at 3pm was rejected even though the room is free and we paid for it from the night before. It was my first time having this issue with a hotel/guest house, not being able to check in at a normal hour like 9pm and had to search for another room in the last moment. Just for the policy of this guest house I wouldn't come back.

It was a perfect stay. We got a spacious room with everything we needed. The lady who helped us with the check-in was very kind and helpful. I loved her little pup as well^_^ The location is central, yet the rooms are peaceful. We had air conditioning but if you open all the windows and balconies in the evening, that'd also help with the heat waves. It had a shared kitchen which was useful if you want to spend one meal with some easily made food. The shared terrace had a nice view. Interesting to learn that it was a missionaries' house though. We were quite surprised to come across a real-life size pope statue in the guesthouse.
