For the price you can't beat it. The location is pretty decent. Driving distance, about a 10-15 min drive to downtown La Fortuna. Walking distance about an hour. The reception is no 24 hours. The night staff is better than morning. My opinion. You must order breakfast the night before. We didn't take part in breakfast because we kept forgetting to order it the night before. The room are a great size. The bathroom is a decent size too. I will note, I don't think anyone gets a volcano view. I could be wrong... The jacuzzi was nice. Bee warned don't turn on the jets. It literally jets out freezing water that smells like sewer. I also want to not, after the shower use, place something over the drain. Bugs keep getting in our room for the drain. It goes straight to the ground and you can clearly see the ground. The grounds are beautiful and surrounded by beautiful birds. On our last day a parrot came to our door and said "hola." Also they have cute dogs that roam the property. I love how animal friendly the place is. We stood in room B2.

Perfect location and many rooms look out toward Arenal Volcano. There's a lovely, short walking trail that is easy to negotiate. Breakfast is available for $7US per person but there are great places nearby (Red Frog is amazing). There are several species of birds that hang out around the grounds.

Beautiful place, close to Fortuna waterfall and with a view of Arenal volcano. They have a short trail on grounds, it is protected, so felt very safe. Grounds and rooms are safe, nicely done, gates close at 10pm. Rooms are good size, plenty of parking right in front of your room (they are like smaller lodges, we were in section C). It got pretty dark at night with no lights, then suddenly birds were chirping at 5am you could not get away from. Town and cafes/restaurants are a 4 min easy drive away

I had a two night stay at Brisas Areal Hotel and was very pleased with the room and the hotel staff are very friendly and bilingual. There was plenty of hot water for the hot tube that never ran cold. A very satisfying breakfast was served to my room both mornings and if your in the mood for a massage you must ask for Rebecca who will come to your room with a massage table and 9 years of experience and coming from someone who's had hundreds of massages she's a top notch PRO.
