The sunset view was just absolutely magical. Probably one of the best spot in Oira to enjoy the sunset. Its quiet, peaceful, uninterrupted and much better views that some of the most highly rated restaurants in Oira. You know the spot is a little hidden gem as there are people walking to the area just to enjoy the sunset. If you choose Captain John, forget the fancy restaurants and just order takeout or make use of the kitchen available and just make your own food and soak up the amazing view! The apartment itself was very clean and Christina was also lovely and so accommodating. Thank you for an amazing stay in Oira! The only thing that was a slight let down is that the outdoor tub is not heated. Which means we could only dip our feet in as it was too cold to use even in the day for us. Also some coffee/tea would make our stay even more enjoyable, although OJ, milk, some small snacks was provided.

The view from our room was amazing. During the day and the evening - the sun sets over Oia and our room looked straight at it The room itself was very clean and spacious and had all the amenities we needed - Christine, the manager was very helpful and polite and ensured our stay was comfortable. The walk into Oia is about 5 minutes .... Santorini is a beautiful place to visit and Captain John's is an idyllic spot to admire it from ....

Excellent place to stay, especially for a romantic getaway. Located on the cliff of the island, it has magnificent views of the white houses of Oia. In my opinion the location is excellent, as it's one of the last few sets of houses on that side of the island, so you can get all the good views, but without being right in the middle of the touristic area, so you can have more privacy. And it's just 10 minutes away from the centre of Oia. We were also very happy with the staff at Captain John, they were very friendly and helpful.

We paid Captain John’s for two nights on a mooring ball. Our new boat was damaged, on both sides, in the first four hours on Captain John’s mooring ball. Manolis (Captain John’s) selected our mooring ball and his assistant placed and secured our stern line on the rocks. Our position was 100% determined by Captain John’s. We paid €100 for the ball specifically to safeguard our boat so we could visit friends staying in Imerovigli. A boat on Starboard banged into our haul 3 times before I could board it and reposition it. The damage would have been far worse if I weren’t onboard. A couple hours later, I dropped my wife onshore to hike up the cliff. I returned 20 minutes later to find a boat on Port resting up against ours with there stern line chaffing our hull and as it turns out damaging our stripe/decal and rubbing off the antifouling further back. It was a skippered charter and the captain’s response was it was not possible for him to damage my boat and regardless he had been coming for years so there was nothing he could do and further, he would be back again in the morning. Manolis was very kind and reluctantly agreed to polish out the damage on starboard but refused to respond about the damage on port side. To make matters worse, it took us 3 hours to get from our boat to Imerovigli on the ferry. The return ferry was much quicker. Never again - the boat would have been safer at anchor and we would have better access to Fira.
