Cave Suite Oia

Have some hesitation after reviewing some of negative comment in google. Upon arrival, we love the cave house. It’s clean and spacious. The location is great although the pathway to the house may be blocked by someone who take the photo, it’s not a big problem. It means the view from the hot tub is great! Zina is our hoist during our stay, she is great and caring.

Please be informed that this is NOT a hotel- contrary to what is written here. The location is a damper; after carrying your baggage down the stoney, uneven 150 or so stairs that thin down to just a feet wide as you get closer to the suit,you find yourself cut off from the above ground and just at the bottom of the cliff where you are the lone resident of this place. No rooms, no service! ( video of stairs attached).You are by yourself and the closest help ( medical or otherwise) is atleast 30 mins away IF you are able enough to climb those stairs again and ask for help. Not saying how smelly, dirty and filth laden the immediate area surrounding the suit is with sewer smell in the air. The so called hot tub is far away from hot and there s no one to listen to your complaint except for a person called Mary who prefers to only communicate through what’s app. She did try to help to some extent however, it was minuscule. The room is well equipped and beautiful though but no service. The breakfast on the house was left outside my door without knocking as a result, the resident kittens feasted on it before we got our hands on it. Also, the converter plug was found in a decorative bowl- broken. I was suggested self help upon asking for one. Only two lire water bottles were found in fridge to begin with and the rest I was supposed to procure from the happening area up the steep climb of stairs. One lone delapitated tea bag sat on the kitchenette counter. There were coffee pods thankfully. Expect no Kleenex or anything like that in the suit. The cleaner woman appeared unannounced , unexpected the next morning and had no idea of the language as a result it took me few mins. To establish she was sent by the manager and was not a tress-passer. She did some not-so- necessary make believe cleaning like washing the outdoors and offering me ONEteabag( wow!)and pouring some lizol in the toilet bowl but NOT even flushing it away, leave behind cleaning it! Next she offered me some not so fresh looking bath towels that I refused and she left soon. That was that. It’s essential to know that you need to be fit enough to hire this lone suit, right at the bottom if the cliff that it is located. Porters did help both ways but yes,it was i sufficient coming down as there was only two pieces that he could possibly carry on himself ( poor guy!) and we were left to fend for ourselves for the other two. With hypertension and tennis elbows, we as a couple struggled all along the 10 minute tourist crowded route as we went down the mace-like endless stairs, all the way down. We were the last ones there- nothing but the sea beyond that. Would like all to read the facts here do people can make an informed decision depending on their health, willingness and budget and avoid themselves from getting ugly surprises.
