Century Park Hotel

Stayed here for 6 nights (4 nights as part of a packaged tour vacation in Bangkok) in November 2023. Our room included breakfast Based on our stay would give it 3.5 stars but couldn't give it half a star so my rating shows as 4 star. the service in the restaurants was good but there were some minor service hiccups that I was kind of surprised Facility - Rooms - nice large rooms with large windows so lets the sunlight in . Our room overlooked a nearby buddhist temple. Apart from that there was not much of scenery to look at Facility - restaurants . There were couple of restaurants in the hotel including Roberto serving Italian dishes, Jess offering buffet (also same place where everyday breakfast was served), a patissiere/coffee shop and bars (next to Roberto and in the lobby). The bars had happy hours everyday in the late afternoon. We had dinner on our first day at Roberto and also had a light lunch in the patissiere on another day. The thin pizza, pasta and salad at Roberto was very good - flavourful and nice thin crust on pizza with jalapeño and pineapples. Jalapeño was nice and spicy. our server at the restaurant was very very good. For lunch at the patisserie, we ordered a small vegetarian sandwich and a pastry. It was also very good and service was good Bar had a pool table but you can only play if you order a drink. Why? what about people like ask who don't drink but want to play a game of pool. That to me was not catering to service but to monetizing the pool table! Facility - Breakfast buffet restaurant. The food was decent from a vegetarian perspective but would have preferred some variety by day especially on the and hot order items. As vegetarians, there was nothing we could order as everything had meat and/or fish/oyster sauce in. I asked for a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato and only on one of the days the cook made it for me; other times they said they could not make it. Wide variety of salad, breads/pastries and potatoes/veggies. Cereal - nothing great and more sweet cereals than anything else. For hot porridge everyday the porridge had meat/seafood mixed in it so we vegetarians could not have it. Why couldn't they make porridge without meat and have meat on the side so those who want it can add it on top. Or at least have an additional small pot of plain porridge w/o meat or seafood to cater to vegetarians Facility - Lobby & other. Nice huge lobby that looks grand when you enter with nice artwork and sofas. We did not use the pool or gym so can't say much about that Service - overall service was good by all staff who were generally friendly. What I was surprised was that there was no milk/creamer in the room for coffee/tea. When we asked for milk, they said we have to buy it ? Really!!!. So we though we could take a small cup of milk from the breakfast buffet to our room but they refused that too because of their policy not allowing any products to be taken out from the bar. I thought this was really penny pinching - at a minimum they should have creamers/milk in the room and/or allow us to take some milk from the bar to upstairs. This is the reason I wanted to rate down half a star down because we came across quite a bit of this "penny pinching" non-customer focused service hiccups. Location - good location (not exactly in middle of town) but within half a mile you can take the overground train and/or subway into downtown. Also Grab taxi is very reasonable to take from hotel to downtown. Also not far from teh hotel, there are couple of shopping areas (Center one shopping mall plus the big Pratunam wholesale market for good bargains) Overall recommend this hotel but I wish they work on the customer dis-satisfiers (provide milk/creamer in room for tea and allow guests to play pool in signature bar without requiring a purchase from the happy hour menu)

Yes there are a few cockroaches and the food is mediocre. But it's a lovely 4 star hotel that makes up for it with great service and facilities. Pool, Fitness centre and guest lounge with the pool table is great. The staff are really friendly and positive. Other than the negatives above I would also suggest they don't greenwash and stop using small disposable bottles for toiletries like the shower gel and shampoo. Use refillable bottles.
