My stay at the Dave Downtown Son of a Brown Hotel was great, the staff is very friendly. My room was small but clean and well organized with a very efficient bathroom and very large shower. Downtown Tel Aviv and the beach are not very far away (about 20 minutes walk). A few hundred meters away is the bus stop and the new subway station. Nearby are supermarkets, restaurants, cafes, and nightclubs. Tel Aviv is a very lively and hectic city by day and by night. For Shabbat, which runs from Friday evening to Saturday evening, all public transportation and also many businesses stop.

Do not recommend. Rooms are tiny, dark and dirty. Plenty of hair from previous guests and leaking A/C dropping water. There are no room services, no breakfast (you have to walk 15m somewhere else) no gym (you have to walk 15m somewhere else), not even a vending machine or a fridge where you can buy a water bottle from. Very noisy due to the proximity of the highway in a lousy street/region.

A rare and refreshing level of service and attentiveness I haven't experienced during my TLV stays so far. The staff is fantastic! helpful, friendly and always available to cater all your needs. Available 24/7. Rooms are rather small but sufficient, no mini fridge but you can put your food in the fridge at reception if needed. Fast wifi, elevator, 5 floors , approximately 10 rooms on a floor so it could get noisy. Personally I'm not a fan of the dark, dramatic choice of deco'r. Bed is super comfy, spacious shower, great AC. You got a convient store right outside the hotel to the left (weekdays till 7pm, Fri till 3pm, closed on Saturdays). Tiv Taam\7/11 about 10 min walk. Bakery 3 min walk for a delicious coffee, breakfast and lunch options. Coffee bar right next to it offers great food, Frame about 8min walk for good sushi. The area is not best, but the location is central and offers very affordable prices.

If I could, I would give this place 3.5 stars. Since it’s a budget hotel I didn’t expect much but there were still things that bothered me that I didn’t encounter in other 3 stars hotel. On arrival I realized I got the worst room in the hotel (ground floor window facing a wall) despite ordering from the hotel itself. Also the AC made awful noises for 30 minutes each time I turned it on. The room did not have a mini fridge as advertised on the hotel website, and the double bed is two separate twin mattresses next to each other, so every morning I found myself sunk between them and with back pains (if you’re a couple that likes to cuddle, forget about it). Also, there’s a desk in the room but it’s so tight there’s no room for a chair next to the desk, so it’s unusable and the free coffee in the lobby is just powder coffee and an electric kettle, no creamer. There’s also no option to buy water or a snack in the hotel and there are no close shops to it. Which leads me to location. The area is industrial and undeveloped. I would be alert walking there at night and suggest to not go south of the hotel after dark. What bothered me most was that everything was at least 10 minutes walk away, including the hotel provided breakfast. If you want a bottle of water or to go anywhere it’s a walk which isn’t too long but it’s just walking on highways with not much around you. It is close to the train however, so you can get to the hotel pretty easily from the airport or from other cities in Israel. I gave this place 4 stars and not three because it’s clean, have 24h reception, and because of the price, or as Yoni said when I made a complaint about my room: “did you see how much you pay here?”

Definitely recommend. My stay was amazing, the staff (especially Yoni) was very helpful regarding my stay in the city. The room are good, clean and well arranged. You are not far from the beach or Rothschild Boulevard and many public transport are nearby to go everywhere in the city. The breakfast is serve in Cafe Barzlay 10min away from walking but it is perfect so don’t miss it. One thing is sure I know where I will stay next time ;-)
