A well run and managed airport. Experienced very efficient passport and security processing. Lots of restaurants, amenities, and duty-free shops. Also, VAT 17% tax refunds are easy to process with process understanding. There is a bank with a reasonable exchange rate for foreign currency before returning back home. I had a very positive experience landing and taking off.

This is my third time to Israel. My experience at Ben Gurion Airport has been different each time. Yes, Security is tight and monitored closely; but, that's to keep everyone safe. So what if they ask a hundred questions; they're just doing their job. If you don't want to be rushed... then get here early. The Airport is Beautiful and very Clean. Restrooms are located throughout the Airport and the Food Court is as Diverse as the Visitors. Multiple choices of Transportation outside and there's even a Train that takes you into the City. I have never had an issue here; just long lines and a lot of patients.

Security can take anywhere from 20 minutes to 3 hours depending on the day. Really nice baby care room available by the synagogue with a crib, changing table, hot water machine, and rooms for feeding babies.

It is a beautiful airport, maybe because I had a good experience I can say that. First time in Israel with my family, and everything went well with immigration and airport security. We were asked the routine questions( the reason you're visiting, where, and how long you're staying, etc). There were no lines, so it only took us like 5 minutes to go through immigration. I give 5 stars because I have nothing to complain about.

In a very simplistic way, airport terminals (at least public, international ones) are a platform business model: where they connect airlines and passengers. These same terminals are therefore measured on the (1) efficiency and (2) quality of that connection experience. For the most part, arrivals are the same at almost every airport: after the plane lands they try to get you out of the airport as fast as possible (i.e., efficiency). Other than a new (June 2023) mural sponsored by the Israel-Latin-America-Network (ILAN) in the exit hall (i.e., experience), and some technology to (unsurprising for Israel) speed the process, this airport treats arrivals like most other airports. Now, their departures are amazing. They place the traveler at the center of the designed experience - and once you're through security (which is a necessary, albeit sometimes frustrating, step) this airport is more like a mall. With things to do to pass the long waiting hours, and even a digital-ordering McDonald's, I have to give this international airport (terminal 3) credit for being, in my opinion, one of the 2-3 best airports that I've experienced anywhere in the world.
