It's your run of the mill, standard hotel. Nothing distinguishing about it but it all works perfectly fine. I do wish it had more of a local flair - why do these hotels insist on everything being so bland? Well located and a short walk to Central Market among other things. Fabulous view from the restaurant on the 17th floor.

Cheap hotel but definitely showing it's age. Don't be fooled by the photos online as the "restaurant" on top is small, dated, and not worthwhile. Convenient location in the heart of San Jose but I'd look elsewhere. Rooms are dated, bar non-existent, service is horribly slow, no breakfast included, air conditioning could barely keep the room at 20C/72F.

The hotel is old and it's age shows in the rooms and amenities. Fittings and carpets in the room were old. Shower not convenient. The night we stayed, they had a large party scheduled in their main restaurant due to which they created a makeshift restaurant in a conference room for the hotel guests. The service was hence limited and super slow which was extremely frustrating for all guests. They perhaps prioritize large bookings over hotel guests. Probably a good value for their location which is central.

the hotel is generally clean and the pool is nice, however, DO NOT eat the at the restaurant (unless it’s the buffet). The service is terrible. I waited over 45 minutes for food and even when we wanted to pay it took 15 minutes for us to be able to pay because we were not attended. Our water cups are always empty even when the restaurant is pretty much vacant. I ate there for dinner 3 times and my experience was about the same each time. It is difficult to find a place to eat close by for dinner but if you can avoid it then please do. I started ordering food to be delivered to the restaurant instead during the rest of my stay.

We visited this hotel twice, at the start and end of our trip to Costa Rica. The first visit was fine. We arrived late, the room was large and comfortable and the breakfast the next morning was downstairs near reception in a very pleasant room. The second visit was completely different. We arrived for check-in at 2 but waited for 2 and a half hours for a room to be available. The reception staff blamed the cleaners but no effort was made to compensate for this wait, not even a welcome drink, or a snack while we were waiting. The room was much smaller, the bathroom needed refurbishing and one of our towels had what appeared to be faeces on it. This was replaced but with no apology. We ate breakfast upstairs due to building work in the lobby, in a rather jaded looking room on the 17th floor. We were pleased with the excellent porter service. They stored our bags for us on both days for several hours when we couldn't get into our room.
