Amazing hotel with an amazing history. The outside pool is perfect for swimming and admiring the sunset. The inclined floor of the room gave me the sea-legs feeling, reminding me this was once a ship at sea, the first of its kind. There is a heritage tour of the ship where you can find about its long journey until she became a hotel.

Newly opened resort in the Bintan resorts area, closest to the ferry terminal (just 5 mins on foot). Transfer from ferry terminal still offered. It is a 100year old cruise ship that many may remember being operated as a floating bookshop travelling around the world as the MV Doulos. It is now out of the water, on a dedicated peninsula made of reclaimed land in the shape of an anchor, with a restaurant and pool at the outer end of the peninsula. The Ship has 35 guest rooms or cabins. We had a lovely family suite with two portholes overlooking the water. Breakfast was satisfying. Dining options in the evening included a hotpot which is fun to have with kids.

A novel experience with a great set of crew. Huge shout-out to Sam and team for wearing multiple hats and being so down to earth and approachable. You made the entire experience a great one for my family. It's not everyday you get the manager on-site doing the ship tour, handing out drinks and then answering room related issues all at the same time. The energy is highly positive and commendable. Things that can be improved - 1) The menu at the piano lounge. Given that the ship hotel is exclusive and meant for families to relax, a more extensive dining menu would definitely encourage families to dine in and explore. Even if you guys offered delivery services from Plaza Simpang or Asun, I am sure it's a great source of side income for the hotel nevertheless. You might also want to take a look into having gluten-free options since it's a recognised food allergy these days. Maybe allow a marthabak or pisang keju vendor to open their stall near the hotel/pool and watch the queue form! 2) Upkeep of the basic amenities. Room 223 has heater issues for 2 days in a row. It was pretty painful since the aircon is strong and it was raining. A hot shower was something that I really looked forward to and each time I was blasted with ice cold water and had to wait until the heater was fixed. Please look into these issues before the grand opening? All in all, nothing negative and I am sure this hotel will be a massive attraction after it's official opening in a few months time. I will be looking forward to the updates and might even drop by then if time permits. Wishing everyone at Doulous Phos a magical 2024 ahead and it's time to shine!

Nice quaint place. You will be able to see the hotel during the ferry trip as it is right beside the ferry terminal. There is a shuttle service that brings you right to the hotel. Staff is nice and they gave us early check in since our ferry reached in the morning. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Bedsheets were very comfortable as well. There is also a tour happening daily at 10am and 4pm that gives you insight into the history of the ship which is fairly interesting. Breakfast was okay, but there are a lot of flies, so that was rather disappointing. They also have a air rifle shooting range which is real fun! Swimming pool is an infinity pool that overlooks the sea which is really pretty.
