El Faro 105 Reef

We loved so many aspects of The Reef 28, but unfortunately, would not stay again due to the loud music coming from the rooftop bar and surrounding bars on the street. The rooms are beautiful and very clean, with two baths in the master luxury suites, which we found very convenient. We enjoyed the extra space provided with this suite, as well as the room amenities. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They get to know you and your preferences (drinks, etc) very quickly. We especially loved Marco (for booking excursions); and Jhovani was an excellent server. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, and the restaurants are good, although if your stay is more than 3 or 4 days, you will probably want to venture out so that you don’t get tired of the same menus if you choose the all-inclusive plan. On the day we visited the spa, it was great. There were few people around, and the four of us in our group agreed that our therapists were all wonderful. Our group are pretty experienced spa-goers, so that’s a big compliment. The only real downside, for both my husband and I, and our friends, was the loud music, which can be heard from basically anywhere in the hotel with a window (even if closed). It’s fun until you’re ready to go to sleep, and then it’s pretty frustrating. We were kept awake some nights until 2 a.m. Even ear-plugs or noise-cancelling headphones didn’t quite do the trick. We had read this complaint with previous reviews, but we aren’t usually that sensitive to outside noise, so we figured we’d try it anyway. But I’d say if you like going to bed before the wee hours of the morning, you will want to choose a more quiet location, as I don’t think the hotel has any control over the noise from surrounding bars, so probably can’t make adjustments to this. Overall, apart from the late noise issue, it’s a great resort.

What a great trip from the moment we arrived! champagne upon arrival, very welcoming staff, quick check in. We stayed from Tuesday-Saturday and enjoyed endless meals at the Mexican restaurant and roof top on site. We also made reservations for Hibachi at the sister hotel Coco Beach. Well worth the all inclusive and area is easy to navigate! You won’t regret, bring $$$ for tips too as the staff are amazing and deserve it. Roxana & Reyes are true gems! Thank you for your amazing customer service, not our first time and certainly not our last.
