THE ELITE HOTEL IN ATHENS COMES HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! If you are looking for a clean, nice, budget hotel in the heart of Athens look no further than the Elite Hotel located on Pieros 23, Athens City Centre, 10552 Athens, Greece. It is only two blocks from the Omonia Metro subway station. What makes this Hotel stand out is first of all, the staff. During the day, you will be pleased to make the acquaintance of the manager, Kostos. He speaks fluent English, is always friendly, and ready to accommodate your needs. He gave me excellent suggestions for some of the finest dining in the Plaka which is only a ten minute walk from the hotel. He can suggest many of the local restaurants to fit your budget and make recommendations on historical sites that suite your particular interests. The front desk is manned 24/7 with an equally friendly staff. On the second shift you will find Laertis or George, both speak English and are knowledgeable regarding local historical sites and eating establishments. Laertis is a font of Greek and Roman history and we had many interesting conversations. The rooms are spartan but very clean. The hot water in the sink and shower is always in supply. The Internet also works very well. And the cleaning staff are ready to give you additional towels or sheets as needed. I was visiting Athens in the hot summer of 2023 with temperatures in the 40s and I can attest to the fact that the air-conditioning also works very well! The Elite is within ten minutes walking distance of the main city center, the Plaka market, with some of the finest restaurants in Athens and all the tourist and historical sites, the Parthenon, Temple to Zeus, the new Acropolis Museum and many other archaeological sites all nearby For those who like an early morning schedule to visit the sites in Athens, there is the Café Casba which is only a two minute walk from the hotel. It is open at 6:30 in the morning with fresh coffee, pastries and a great Greek yogurt with cereal and honey to start your day. The side assortment of pastries are ready by 7am but for the early birds, 6 am will still supply you with a variety of breakfast croissants. You can say hello to the ladies at the front counter, Valia, Elda, Gladiola, and Leli who will greet you with a smile. One of them will make you a fresh squeezed orange juice from real oranges for less than one Euro. They want to make sure you have an enjoyable breakfast. For a great location, excellent staff, reasonable prices and a clean hotel with great Internet service with three routers servicing the various floors (make sure to get the proper password at the front desk for your particular floor) the Elite Hotel can make your stay in Athens a memorable one.
