Driving here was crowded b/c this is by the UCSD dorms, but this is a really nice resort. They are remodeling their pool which should be up in April 2024 but still their rooms have all been retouched recently. They don't have tubs though if that's your thing only standing showers. They have luxury bathrobes that I lived in while visiting. I would absolutely come back. I held a conference here and the valet (Oliver and Enrique) were wonderful to my 150+ guests, the front desk was on point, and the food was delicious (David the bartender is the best, and Larry the banquet chief was great to work with).

This is a beautiful hotel. It is. The grounds are immaculate and the rooms are quite nice with the exception of the bathtub drain being broken. My issue is the construction with the pool area. We were upgraded to a suite upon arrival. How nice we thought. The room was literally located next to the construction area. Every morning at 7:30 am we were awoken to the sounds of hammering and drills. It was loud as one would imagine. Once they finish their construction, I'm sure it will be a nice place again.

My husband and I booked this hotel with high hopes. We looked forward to enjoying the heated pool for our holiday getaway. However, we were surprised to find out the pool and hot tub area was closed off due to construction. We were not made aware of this closure prior to booking or even during check-in. We were not able to get any money back because our resort fee had already been waived for our extended stay. The food options are limited and overpriced for the portions served. While the location may be convenient for those visiting UCSD, the area is not very walkable for everyday activities. Overall, the hotel was very quiet, the room was comfortable and nicely put together, but the quality of our stay was just not justified by the price we paid.

Coming from Michigan, we made it a massive point to pick a hotel with a pool. We imagined having tacos and beers by pool. Breakfast by the pool. Laying by the pool. You get the idea. Upon arrival, we are told there is fact — NO POOL. I speak with the manager that said he will take the $40 daily resort fee off the bill. Please note, that $40 was for a bottle of water, coffee/tea… AND TO USE POOL. I asked why wasn’t it advertised that the resort has no pool and won’t for quite some time, he said “I honestly don’t know why they don’t”. So now I’m talking to a manager who doesn’t know much, but is only comping a resort fee that was for the pool use anyways. But don’t worry, you can use a neighboring pool that’s 10-15 minutes away and drive in a wet suit to/from there. I asked them to somehow better remedy this situation- include breakfast, include parking… big fat nope. Honestly, this was a horrible experience and will gladly tell others to not book here. Had this not been paid in full, we would have left.
