I liked my stay at this place. The rooms were small, but cozy. They have separate space for keeping bigger luggage. I was provided with a pair of pajamas, towels and slippers. For the price, it was a great place to stay. The location was also great. I had only two observations: 1. The entire building smelled of cigarette, that includes the elevator. 2. This is not a wheelchair accessible place.

Great location with super helpful staff! The rooms were very nice and comfy with ample storage space. The sleeping area was always really quiet and everything was kept very clean.

Been to First Cabin Ichigaya years ago and I enjoyed the nights of my stay there, so in my recent Japan trip with a friend I recommended we stayed at another First Cabin capsule hotel. This time in Akasaka. Not as busy as the other areas in Tokyo which I preferred. Stayed here for one night. Great Points: • Efficient use of space with the capsule design. The space is actually quite larger compared to some other capsule hotels. • Clean and well-maintained facilities. • Comfy bedding and privacy curtains in each capsule. • Friendly and helpful staff. • Convenient location near public transportation. Areas for Improvement: • Limited storage space for personal belongings. • Limited communal space for socializing or working. The reception area has a common area, which also is a cafe. That means you have to order there if you are spending time during cafe shop hours. So we used the basement floor’s common area which could be limiting if there are more than enough people lounging there. This was the only area we can somehow talk without whispering as the cabin areas in the other floors have to be quiet all the time which I understood. • Some noise from other guests can be heard. An inherent concern with capsule hotels definitely.

Very good place in the heart of Tokyo. Accessible to different top tourist locations. Although Haneda First Cabin provides Noice cancelling headphones, Akasaka provides only earphones and earplugs which are not that good when you have a heavy snoring mate near you. Advisable to take a good headphone or a pair of earplugs by yourself in order to have a good sleep. The other facilities are super good.

If you are looking for something "quirky" and cheap, go for it. However if you are looking for a really good night sleep, stay away. I thought I'd try it for something different and fun. However I soon found out that there's not much privacy, the beds are very uncomfortable and stiff, and it's very noisy with other guests opening and closing their "cabin shutters". The thin flimsy shutters also don't go close all the way (approx 30cm gap at the bottom) so you can hear other people in their pods moving around and making noise. Also people are coming in at all hours, and when you open/close the shutter, it makes quite a noise which can wake you up at 3am. The person in the cabin next to me got up in the night a few times, and EVERY TIME it woke me up. They ask you not to use your phone alarm as it will wake other guests up. I heard no less than 4 other guests' phone alarms going off in the morning from 5am onwards. Airflow is not good either and the room can get very hot. Also, there is only one elevator servicing all floors, so sometimes you can be waiting 5 mins just to get in the elevator. The bed and pillows were extremely stiff and very difficult to sleep on. Staff were nice and amenities were fine. I paid for 2-nights but ended up leaving after only one night. Booked a small self-contained hotel room elsewhere for 9,000 yen / night and it was much more comfortable. For the sake of saving 4,000 yen, you're better off getting a proper hotel and having a comfortable, private sleep.
