Fletcher Boutique Hotel Slaak - Rotterdam

On a Wednesday night, I contacted the reception regarding our reservation. Given the recent storm in the Netherlands, planes being unable to land and our flight getting cancelled consequently. I straight away called the hotel and had an unsatisfactory interaction with the receptionist, Michela, who displayed discourteous behavior and declined to address my inquiries on multiple occasions. I was very puzzled by the lack of compassion in their customer service and the unfavorable treatment I received during my phone call. Anyway, I was informed that this adjustment would not pose any issues. Consequently, I proceeded to modify the remaining four reservations associated with our upcoming trip only to find out that in the end they weren’t able to modify my booking and that I owed them the hole amount. I have asked the manger (Marjolein) multiple times to provide me a personal work email address to write her directly and she continued to provide me a general reservations address. Given the fact that I talked to her colleagues who didn’t held up to their agreement, I felt it was more respectful to talk directly to the manager and avoid them reading my complains about them but Marjolein wasn’t willing to cooperate. It was very disheartening that I was given assurances that have not been upheld. Only after writing a very extensive email to Marjolein to which she never even responded nor showed any kind of sympathy towards the situation, she silently proceeded to modify my booking as asked. So far the whole experience has been anything but positive and to be honest I’m amazed that a manager like this is running the hotel. After arrival tho I can kind of understand. We purposely booked a room with 2 separate beds and upon arriving the receptionist told us that their system automatically assigned us a room with only one. When i asked her if the room was still the same she told me yes and promised me that there would even be a terrace. When we went up to see our room we find out there isn’t. Besides the fact that the bathrooms in this hole structure are aweful, paint chips in doors, showers that wet your hole bathroom floor given they have no door, a sink so small even a thoothbrush can’t stay there, we also found hairs in the shower. We continued our stay by going down to the bar for a drink, I ordered a hot chocolate which arrived cold. After kindly asking the lady to warm it for me she was almost astonished by my request and told her colleague in Spanish that I was in the wrong for asking her to warm it while she literally brought me a luke warm drink? To top off, tv connecting services don’t work and the room is very nosy with the traffic outside passing by Conclusion: we can’t say anything positive about the hotel. Have had awful interactions with the staff and even with the manager who seemed indifferent to customer concerns. Rooms are very uncomfortably designed and not up to Marriott standards. Really wouldn’t recommend staying here, it has been an absolute ridiculous experience.

Staff at this hotel are pretty terrible. I'm Mariott Gold and they wouldn't honour any of the perks that were promised. We paid in full but they still ended up charging us. There were plenty of empty rooms but we're denied free upgrade. Room was noisy and the toilet was on the opposite side of room from the sink for some reason. Waited 1 hour in line to check in, room wasn't ready. We arrived after 3pm and room still wasn't ready. Didn't get room until 5pm. Late check out was also denied. Mariott should consider dropping this property from their bonvoy program. Would never recommend or stay here again.
