The guys on reception are the best, staying there was fun. The breakfast is diverse and delicious, the rooms are cleaned regularly. The location is great if you want to visit the most iconic sights

Our second time at the Florina Hotel and it won't be the last. Excellent location, clean and comfortable rooms. But if I have something to highlight it is the attention of the staff, very friendly and polite. Thanks again for making us feel at home, thanks to Ramazan and the entire team. I hope we see each other soon!

The hotel florina is in an area that allows first timers to see the main tourist areas of Istanbul like the grand mosques, grand bazaar, basilica cistern all within 15 mins walk or less. It’s also close to the metro and tram. The hotel, and especially the rooms, are much smaller than expected. We travel with only small carry ons (8 days of clothes) and we had little space to put our belongings. The room is quite bare, and only enough counter space for one person. The bathroom is tiny and no shelf for toiletries. We were told the rooms are non-smoking but our room constantly had the scent of second-hand smoke. It wasn’t terrible, but as non-smokers, it was detectable. The bed was very uncomfortable and it was difficult to get a good nights rest. It made a paper crinkling-like noise every time you moved. You get two tiny pillows with very little support. The elevators are small, which is typical, so it’s best to take the stairs going up and down once you’ve checked in. Breakfast was decent on the first day. It seemed to be more and more basic after. Laundry service is available for a decent price (they charge per kilo). No lobby or common area to hang out with friends other than the basement breakfast room. We found one of the staff were helpful but the others we interacted with seemed more hesitant to help or answer questions. Overall, for the price we paid, it was just OK for a no-frills type hotel and in a central location.

The included breakfast buffet blew me away with the selection, taste, and freshness. The cook was Uzbek when I went there and the food was from their cuisine with a hint of Turkish. Call ahead to ask if they still have that cook. The location is right in the middle of the tourist area and you can walk by foot to literally any of the major attractions around, the mosques, the restos, the ferry, the market, etc.

My favourable rating of Florina Hotel is based on price and expectations: at the price, it met and even exceeded expectations - thanks to the generous spread for breakfast, free water from the water cooler, user-friendly elevator and cleanliness/upkeep of the rooms. The location was just perfect as expected from the mapped location - such a win! It is unexpectedly quiet - also a win ;-) The rooms are small & compact but neat, efficient with nicely done bathrooms for this size hotel. The safe and mini-fridge were great advantages. Compliments to the reception/concierge guys - we engaged with 3 over our 4-night stay and all were super helpful!!
