The staff were extremely nice and helpful! Rooms were immaculate clean. Location is close to major attractions in Rome and even the central terminal. Keep in mind you have to bring your own lock and towel otherwise it’s 5 euros to rent a towel. My only drawback on this hostel is that the beds have no privacy curtains, and they don’t provide shampoo and body wash so bring your own. But overall it was great and worth the price I paid.

Recently stayed in a private room. It's a little far from the city center and Roman highlights but completely walkable and not a bad walk from Monti. However, it is very close to Rome Termini and it's nice to not lug luggage far. It was expensive but we unfortunately booked the room during the Ryder Cup, so every hotel was expensive. The actual accommodations are acceptable. The room was simple, yet clean and quiet. The shower was hot and also got the job done. My only complaint is the air conditioner wasn't great and it was warm in the room. There was a thermostat but I don't think it actually controlled anything and our window opened onto a terrace that was very accessible from other parts of the building. So, even though it cooled down at night, we weren't comfortable opening the window. Otherwise, if your intentions are to explore the city all day and only sleep in the hostel, it's a fine place to stay. Otherwise, the staff were excellent an accommodating. There isn't a kitchen, which I suppose is a problem for a hostel, but it didn't impact us. Overall I'd recommend this Generator Hostel. It is reasonable accommodations in an expensive city.

I had a wonderful stay at the Generator Rome. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the cleanliness of the hotel was impressive. It smells very good! The coffee were not only tasty but also a great start to the day. The staff were friendly and accommodating, making me feel right at home - special mention to Kirby and Chastine for an excellent customer service and hospitality! Thank you! The hotel's central location was perfect for exploring Rome's attractions. I would highly recommend Generator Rome to anyone visiting Rome, Italy!

the place is good looking great rooms good new design super clean.. tho it lacks: a kitchen... friendly common space and approachable ... to relax chill and meet... only a lobby at the first floor..very cold..with not nice music... the only thing that really bothered me os the unfriendly welcome by reception... as if I arrived to France and the receptionist is angry at me to to exist instead of treating me like a client. also everything is extra charge... 5 euro to rent a towel (cheaper to buy one) locker room is charged... as mentioned.no common kitchen... I would stay again because is very clean and new and is also important..but for a hostel it lack some things

My family, including my husband and 23-month-old daughter, recently stayed at this hostel, and our experience was far from pleasant. This establishment falls short of being family-friendly and safe. The surrounding area was concerning, with a lack of security, and men loitering outside made us feel uncomfortable and unsafe. The room itself was not only unsuitable for a family with a child, but also posed risks to adults. The furniture was not baby-proof and had sharp edges, which is a safety hazard. The bed was uncomfortable, and I even woke up with insect bites on my arm, indicating poor hygiene. The room was freezing cold, and when we raised the issue with the staff, they were unhelpful, claiming that they couldn't do anything about it.Additionally, the card's sensitive timing was a hassle. Overall, our experience at this hostel was nothing short of horrible.I would strongly advise against staying here, especially for families or women traveling alone. Safety, comfort, and service were severely lacking, and the surrounding area did not inspire confidence.One of the most frustrating aspects of our stay was the security card system.The security cards provided were incredibly unreliable. It was a constant source of inconvenience as they often didn't work. This meant we had to make repeated trips to the reception, navigating a slow and outdated elevator, just to have the cards reset.A secure and functional key card system is crucial in any accommodation, and the hostel's system fell woefully short of this basic expectation.Moreover, even after successfully inserting the security card, we had to be exceptionally quick to push the door open. If we were not lightning-fast, it required us to insert the card again, which was incredibly frustrating and time-consuming. It felt as if the door had an unforgiving timer, and any slight delay meant having to start the process all over again. This added to the overall frustration and discomfort of our stay.
