3 stars. Decent outdoor Swimming pool, reasonably clean with just a few leaves. Buffet mediocre, overcooked chicken and lamb, too tough. Won't give more than 1 bottle of water, a bit stingy. Bed was comfortable. No power plug near bedside, very inconvenient. housekeeping didn't have any extension cords. Blinds are very thin, also not installed correctly (dual rail, use both rails please) Kettle didn't work.

I was there for some days to explore the City center. Without breakfast. The reception is very helpful and well equiped. No noise, even if there is parties, they stops exactly at 1pm. Everything was perfect even the rooms are clean and they are cleaning it everyday. The only exception is tha there is no paper to hang on the room to ask to clean or not the room. The cleaning service cnock and sometimes quicly gently open the door to ask to clean or not(without entring) , around 9h/10h in the morning (still sleeping) and in the afternoon around 16h. The cleaning service clean the floor with the machine around 9h/10h in the morning. I think if you put a notice in the recetion they will take it into account

Good hotel for the tourists visiting Tunis who want special attention and friendly staff. The buffet is good and you can find a wide variety of options to choose from. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Tunis!

I have been a guest of Golden Tulip El Mechtel for 10 years. There are rooms in good shape and rooms in less good shape. This time, I got one, which was a bit worn down. The air condition didn't work (in summer, 40 degrees!) as well as the safe. I reported both to the front desk, nothing was done about that. In the room itself, I had to remove a small cockroach before I went to bed. What really was annoying to me is that I paid with my debit card upon check out and due to no reason at all, the same amount was blocked on my card and not released until today. I sent three emails to the hotel to sort this issue out, but didn't get any reply. This really is unsatisfying and I will most probably serach for a different hotel in the future.
