Maria’s guest house exceeded our expectations in every way. Travelling with our 18 month old in June 2022, we were greeted by Maria in the most welcoming way that made us feel at home immediately. Maria not only had the best recommendations and hospitality, she also made us feel like family. The location is absolutely perfect and we were able to walk to most sights. 15/10 experience and one of the most wonderful places we have ever stayed. The room was bright, spacious, and impeccably clean. With the balcony overlooking the bustling street, you really felt immersed in the city.

An excellent place to stay in a great location. A couple of blocks away from the Colosseum. Cannot praise the landlady highly enough: very welcoming and helpful. A pleasure to deal with and speaks perfect English for people not familiar with the Italian language.

Perfect location: 100m or so from Coloseium and the Forum (historic ruins). The Monti neighbourhood will reward you with restaurants, ice creams, cocktails, piaza, and fountains. Splendid host, who has wealth of knowledge she is happy to share so that it's a memorable visit. Super clean kitchen and rooms (cleaned daily). Fridge stocked with milk, soya, juice, water, luncheon meats and yoghurts. Fresh cakes and fruit available, as are cereal and packaged pancakes. Remarkably quiet rooms - even with window open (road closes nearby to most traffic) - with views over road, shops, buildings (and almost but not quite the Colessium) from 4th floor. The coffee machine will start your day off in style - seriously! Bed has a comfortable, firm mattress. Ensuite is clean and has many towels. Great water pressure and hot water (we visited early May when it not yet blistering heat outside). Host has shampoo, etc, available (left by previous guests). Huge bookshelves filled with... books! The lift (elevator) is 3 steps (why?!) up from the ground floor. And what a lift! So cute. Old, tiny (2 people and 1 bag), with manually operated outter and inner doors. The host gives you a code so that you can buzz yourself into the building (the first time just buzz her from the labelled apartment buzzer). A perfect base, especially if you enjoy walking the city (recommended!!) like we did. Our step counter was near or at 20,000 steps each day! Only used the Metro once: for our visit to the Vatican museum (we walked back). We loved this place, and the service!
