My partner booked a 4 star plus package and ended up on this company’s boat and wasn’t impressed at all for starters we payed far to much for what we really got, so be aware in general expensive don’t mean good boat !!. Ok where do I start oh , toilet didn’t flush , no HOT water at all !!, food was just ok . We received alcoholic cocktails with no ALCOHOL and told we don’t know what we are talking about while staff just sat there and laughing on there phones while “playing games”. We received no cruise itinerary and what info we where given was all incorrect spent very little time with activity was all so rushed . The the cruise isn’t a 2night -3 day cruse it’s purely a 2 day cruse because of 2 less then half days Food was just ok and there made very poor experience for my partner seeing she was vegetarian.

Ha Long Bay cruise is the biggest scam in the history of scams. We booked 2 days 1 night trip in a hostel in Ha Long town for 90 usd each - we thought it was a good deal but apparently others paid the same amount and it included transfer from Hanoi as well. First of all in the pictures the boat looks brand new and very luxurious in fact its an old boat that is falling apart. The cabins were small and clean but nothing like those in the catalogue. Do not expect the welcome drink on board to be a glass of wine - it's just a small glass of cold tea. We were also promised red wine and fruits but we came 2 minutes late and it was all gone... The food wasn't fresh and not very good either but there was plenty on the table. Some of the passengers were vegetarian and they would eat the same thing for each meal. The crew are not polite at all, I would rather say they were rude. On the check out day they were banging on each door every 2 minutes shouting "get out!". That I find unacceptable. Later on, few minutes before arrival in the harbour the bartender was trying to convince us that we had ordered drinks during the cruise and trying to make us pay for them. The tour guide was very sweet but no one could really understand what she was saying and she did not know much about anything including the schedule not mentioning the area, history or anything relevant. The only activity that we really enjoyed was kayaking but we had only 40 minutes scheduled for it. Other than that we went to a cave and one of the island which were packed with tourists and we had to wait in line to get in the cave and up the hill. Probably it is exactly the same on any every boat and I do not regret doing it because Ha long Bay is a magnificent place and an absolute must see while in Vietnam. BUT if you only have a chance to avoid group tours and explore it in any other way, do it.

The cruise ship itself was nice, clean and well serviced. Drink prices are at a European bar level. The tour includes a lot of waiting around and being dropped from one boat to another without explanation. Unfortunately the whole area suffers from a mass tourism problem and serious pollution but you get that with any cruise company. All in all, Seasun was a fine choice.

We did a 3 day 2 night tour of Halong Bay. Would definitely recommend this rather than 2 day 1 night as the second day is entirely spent getting you back to Hanoi and no activities. first day was great got picked up on time, got to Halong Bay 12:30 immediately got on the boat given a welcome drink (some fruit juice) and shown our rooms. Then ate lunch. The food was great when on the Seasun cruise boat but there could definitely have been more as we ended up on a table with lots of people and 3 vegetarians so not much veg to share. surprising cave and titop island were very nice. afterwards we got back on the boat had some free fruit and a taste of Vietnamese wine although not much. they have a happy hour 2 for 1 cocktails for 7USD. karaoke and squid fishing in the evening. the next day we went to the oyster farm and kayaked which were both good. then picked up by another boat for our transfer to cat ba island and this is where we were disappointed. they took us kayaking again for an hour but only a couple of people wanted to go kayaking twice in a day with barely an hour inbetween. we then went to monkey island too see monkeys and climb the hill. lunch on this boat was very little and poorly made. there was one serving of fries between 6 adults. got dropped at cat ba around 4:30 and dinner was at 6:30 again disappointing would reccommend eating somewhere else if you can. breakfast was fine toast jam and eggs. however we had to check out at 7:30am and got to the boat by 8, which then didn't leave for at least an hour leaving us to wonder why we had to get up so early. the last day is entirely spent getting back to Ha Noi as there is a lot of waiting around and slow moving boats so we didn't do anything on the last day. overall the boat was good, clean and fairly spacious. you just spend a lot of time waiting around and there's not enough food if you eat more than a 5 year old child.

Do not use Seasun for your Ha long bay excursion!! Seasun cruise 2 night Ha long bay is a scam! Actually they do Not have an itinerary for night two and day three. They just repeat the same thing you did the day before. Even Our dinner for both nights were exactly the same. If we had known this we would never have opted for the two nights. The itinerary was not at all what we got. We were then left to hang out on the boat with no aircon, as that gets switched off at 6am. When the guide was questioned he admitted that two night guests were always upset! Knowing this and doing nothing to change it just show you they don't care. Really left a bitter taste being scammed! Suggestion would be to for one night on the boat and one night on Cat ba island... and never ever with Seasun!
