Hampton Inn Majestic Chicago Theatre District

Our room was lovely and comfortable. We didn't have the best view out the window, but it didn't matter. Even with the windchill being -32, it didn't stop us from going to some local pubs. We enjoyed the breakfast that was complimentary. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

For a hotel in downtown Chicago, this hotel has great value for the price! Extremely friendly and welcoming staff at all hours of the day, from housekeeping to the front desk to the doorman. The location is walking distance to public transportation, major tourist destinations, shopping, and food (though nothing except bars are typically open late). Transit times listed on major map apps are reliable. Of note, there's no microwave in the room itself but there's one available in the breakfast area of the lobby. Breakfast is included and your typical Hampton Inn breakfast. Area is physically small and not too accessible. Hot water, tea, hot chocolate, and coffee are available throughout day. The rooms were great, especially for the city! High ceilings, pretty spacious bathroom and room, and double windows with views of neighboring buildings (nothing too great but it's a city view 🤷‍♀️). The body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion came in refillable bottles (instead of the travel size ones) which was ideal and makes it easier for longer stays. Everything was clean. The building is historic and right above the CIBC theatre. To get into the hotel (except for the lobby), you need an access key in the elevator. After hours, you'll also need it for the front doors of the building. This becomes a pain if you forget your key. This might be the one place I highly recommend getting the digital key - less chances you'll forget your phone than your key. Speaking of the elevator, there are 3-4 elevators of varying sizes. One elevator is usually open + waiting in the lobby, and another is open + waiting at the ground floor / entrance. The non-accessible elevators are very small and maybe fit 4 people at most with no luggage and just personal bags. For those who may be driving: parking is mostly garage or street parking (and the meters are always on!) Street packing is easy to find parking but can get expensive throughout the day.
