The lady that checked us in when we arrived was very kind and attentive. We wanted some hot water for tea and the thermos in the Lobby the hot water was just warm. She took the trouble to run back to the kitchen and got us two cups steaming hot water for tea. That was excellent and kind service

I visit the place once a week for they have charging stations for my Ford Fusion. I've found the staff very friendly when I have dealings with them. I may spend a night here in the future so I can give the Hampton Inn Monterey proper rating even though I live very close by.

Decent hotel itself, clean. Good EV charging available and nice large rooms. Area around was very unsafe, lot of homeless. There is a small trail by the lake to take dogs with a patch of grass; at 9pm I took my dog to relieve himself and was approached and lunged at by two homeless men, had to sprint back to the hotel, be very careful around here at night!!!

Brought in the New Year in Monterey and the Hampton Inn had the best value for our 3 night stay. You tell the hotel was recently renovated. Very clean, quaint, and quiet. We had a "lakeview" room, the lake isn't a big attraction, but I guess it's better than looking at the parking lot. Hotel has a single elevator, it's pretty quick but that can delay getting to/from your room. The room was a great size. Had enough room for a sofa and a king size bed. The staff that checked us in was amazing too. The hotel was about 5 minutes from downtown and 10 min from the pier. Seems pretty remote when you're there; however, you aren't too far from anything. BONUS: they have EV charging.
