Checked into Haus Wartenburg during Christmas Vacation to Salzburg. While it's great that a 400 year old house tries to retain its originality, there are much needed repairs and renovations that are necessary to bring this place to what it could be. Rooms: small and overcrowded with large furniture. Larger wardrobe dressers that take up a sizeable amount of space in an already small room need to go. Bathroom: found hair inside my showed after checking in. Found a pool of spilled hair/body gel wash on the floor of my shower. Towels were of a cheap,threadbarren, sandpaper-like grit texture, an obvious tactic to save money. Services: the Wi-Fi was slow and unreliable. This is 2023, not 2003. No excuses

Great place for staying in an historic building with modern conveniences. Spacious room...bountiful breakfast...friendly helpful staff...nice restaurant on site. A little far to walk from the train station but we made it.

This is a good option for a nice, clean hotel in Salzburg. It is a short walk to the old town and the attractions of the city. The staff were kind, reliable wifi, good shower - temperature and water pressure. I was able to leave my luggage on the day I checked out until my train. It is easy to get the bus from the train station to here.

We stayed here recently and experience was good. Location is also nice very close to the bus stop and roaming within and surrounding the city is very easy if you stay close to bus stop. This hotel is very old as i heard from the staff it is 370 years old and it is still erected and maintained which is commendable. Few things can be improved like the quality of interiors utensils are also old few chairs were not fixed. Quality of usable things like towel was not good. One thing i appreciate is the service and behavior of the staff. They are helpful
