A good hotel. In close proximity to all attractions, and was one of the cheaper hotels in Athens. Expect budget and basic as it is a 3* but good for a few days. Positives- - Use of the amazing rooftop bar at sister hotel 10 min walk away with amazing Acropolis views - Close to all attractions and main streets - Cheap - Staff friendly enough - Breakfast very very basic but included. Negatives- - Bed almost impossible to sleep in, desperately needs new pillows/mattresses/linen. Really uncomfortable. - Shower needs new head, water pressure not great. - The cleaners threw away a bar of soap I’d only used once, and replaced with a new one. Please be more environmentally friendly and allow me to use it again and not have to open a new one. - Area downstairs for tea/coffee could have a vending machine or other bar to buy cold drinks and snacks as there aren’t many supermarket type shops nearby.

Hermes hotel is very conveniently located in the Plaka neighborhood, so it is a great place to launch a visit to Athens. They will hold your bags before and after check in. The breakfast buffet is very good, the lobby is a good spot to relax in, but the better place to go is the roof, especially at night when you get a nice view of the lit up Acropolis. The neighborhood is pretty quiet during the daytime, but it comes to life after dark. No matter - the sound didn't carry into our comfortable room.

Hotel is on very good location and in very safe area. There is a lot of restaurants and shops. Breakfast is good, room are clean. Reception staff was very helpfull and so kind. Specially Eva. Thank you for everything.
