Beautiful view but wish had read reviews first. As traveller's on a budget trip we had no vehicle and trips booked everyday. So walking up a big hill 2-3 times a day was quite tiring. View was amazing and room was clean. Disappointed that one small milk was supplied and rooms were not serviced every day which was a fault of our own for not checking first. We ran out of toilet paper and and asked for extra milk and were declined. Expensive for non-serviced room. Beds were very uncomfortable and one of us slept on the couch for 4 nights. Curtains are not block out so very light also. Lovely place to visit and easy to check in and out.

Stayed here 4 nights in December on our trip to QT. Had a second floor unit with incredible views. The place was spotless clean, had a fully stocked kitchen, a separate tub and shower, laundry, and King bed with a full living room. There was shampoo/conditioner/body wash provided. The patio was lovely and the place was really quiet. I would definitely recommend staying in 2nd or 3rd floor unit here. The only things to note are the walk to town is about 12 minutes up/down a steep hill, and there are no shelves or counter space in the bathroom so there is nowhere to set/organize your bathroom stuff.

Stayed here for the last 2 nights of a 10 day holiday around the south island. What an amazing place to stay. Phenomenal views over the lake towards the Remarkables. Highly recommend getting the lake view and watching a sunrise or sunset you won't be disappointed. The receptionist was so helpful and accommodating. Loved the room set up and our bed was comfortable. Had heated floor tiles in the bathroom and a heated towel rail. A combined washer and dryer. Thank you for making our last 2 days in NZ so memorable.

Per the manager’s very own words: “This place is not luxury” she said while talking down about the very property she operates and then proceeding to nickel and dime us for hidden fees and charges not disclosed prior to booking With that said, be prepared to be threatened to be kicked out of your fully booked and paid for room by the horrendous manager if you are not available during their normal business hours (which are far less than any traditional rental) to pay for their ridiculous fees they will hit you with if you misplace the room key and get locked out after their office closes(5pm). They will ask you to report by an early morning hour to their office or threaten to cut your paid for room access if you don’t bend at their will while on vacation. $100 access to room if locked out after hours $10 per key card $12 for a dryer that eats your coins that manager refused to refund (it was either that or the key card charge) None of which are disclosed on any booking site they advertise on Funny enough they are quick after their money, but when we had an issue with the AC not working, we were told the room doesn’t have AC which it clearly did, and then when they said they would come check it out, they never showed, leaving us in a hot and stuffy room. Lastly, when speaking to this so called manager, she was rude, condescending, and absolutely does not deserve a place dealing with clients in this space. Piss poor customer service and bad attitude. Guest beware, stay here at your own risk.

Spent 4 nights at Highview. Had a mini panic attack when I realised the office closed at 5pm and I hadn't contacted them to let them know. I arrived to find them waiting (I think). The receptionist was very kind and understanding. On arrival to my apartment, the gas fire and heater were already on so was lovely and warm. Beautiful views, comfortable bed, Tui singing in the morning. Kitchen has everything you need if planning to eat in. Short walk into town, a bit steep coming back but a good way to burn off those extra calories after a bit of indulgence! I will come back. Very happy 😊
