The hotel is a 9 minute walk from Edinburgh train station. It is a comfortable, quiet hotel with great ambience and excellent staff, and easy to access various areas in the city. The hotel is perfectly situated, with lots of Indian, Italian, Turkish, etc restaurants around. The breakfast buffet is simply delicious with great options to choose from, and a comfortable spacious breakfast room for guests to sit and eat. Room service is excellent and staff are efficient and friendly. Although we (my partner and I) paid for a standard double room for 4 nights, the bed is really small for two persons. I weigh 66kg and my partner weighs 92kg, and we felt like there wasn't enough room on the bed to stretch and lie comfortably. We pointed this out to the tee reception staff and he brushed our concerns off with a slightly racist comment. Otherwise, we had a pleasant stay and would recommend the hotel for the positive reasons stated above.

Plenty of restaurants, shops and things to do near the hotel, the train station is only a 10 minute walk away and there's a tesco express only a couple of doors down. Check in and check out was very straightforward and staff were helpful. Very clean and modern looking room, the provided shampoo and body wash was a nice touch and way better quality than what most hotels provide. The room was perfectly sized, I'm unsure where the "bed is too small" comments are coming from as me and my partner found it to be larger than our double bed at home! Tea and coffee was also avaliable in the room. Breakfast was really good, plenty of child friendly, vegan and vegetarian options. The only thing that could've been improved, is staff could've assigned people tables to prevent crowding and confusion finding somewhere to sit. Other than that, it was spot on.

My friend and I stayed in Holiday Inn express Hotel in Edinburgh last night and staff were lovely. Gordon on the front desk got us a booing at a nearby restaurant before we went to see Wicked. Going above and beyond than he had too. Room was lovely and extremely clean. Breakfast was excellent. Will definitely be returning. Thank you to everyone.

Very pleased with our staying in this hotel. Nice staff, especially at breakfast and the girl who checked us in (young, black hair). Delicious food at breakfast, just a shame about small choices of food but overall very good. Comfortable bed, even tho some reviews are complaints about size of the bed but for me and my partner there was no problem with that. Very good location. Recommend staying here, would visit again.

perfect location for the playhouse. Hotel warm , friendly and clean. room comfortable and facing onto the street, but minimal noise noted. We had a twin room, and only fault I could find was lack of plugpoints on the side t he beds were on. I had to use medical equipment and there was one plug point at head of one of the beds, but no where to place anything . i had medical equipment, so to solve the problem i upturned the waste paper basket ,slide it down side of bed and put equipment on to it to be able to use it., but other than that no faults, , and it wouldn't stop me staying here again, as all the benefits far outweigh this small detail.
