Holiday Inn Express Saltillo Zona Aeropuerto by IHG

I'm leaving this review while sitting in the hotel room. First of all I want to say that everyone that we have met so far has been very, very nice. Unfortunately the staff being nice does not change the fact that our experience has been horrible so far. We just checked in tonight and we are completely exhausted after a 14-hour drive. All we want to do is go to sleep and that is why we are sleeping in this room tonight Even though it goes against my conscience. After checking in we came upstairs and found the room smelling like a nursing home. We turned on the air conditioner in order to remove the smell and the air conditioner smells like toxic mold. We went downstairs to the desk to speak to the nice woman who checked us in to let her know about the issues. She told us that she would have someone spray "aroma" in the room. Unfortunately now the room smells like chemicals, mold and a nursing home. The bad experience doesn't stop there. There are stains on our sheets, hair all over the back side of the mattress, crumbs and stains on the rug, stains on the furniture and so much more. The best thing about this place was the shower and even that was a disaster because whoever installed the shower curtain installed it too high which causes the water to pour all over the bathroom floor. I have documented our stay with pictures to show you exactly what we went through. It is unfortunate because the people were genuinely very nice. If we weren't so exhausted from our trip we would be downstairs right now arguing to get a refund and staying at a different hotel. Approximately 133 USD and this is what we get. Really sad. When you take a look at any of the subpar reviews for this establishment you will see the same cookie cutter response from the hotel. It shows you that the hotel doesn't care about your experience, they simply want to make it look like they care. Every single person who has had a horrible experience like mine should have been offered a discount or their money back and unfortunately all they got was the same exact response over and over. There is a Hampton hotel by Hilton literally right next to this one. Make the right choice and go to them. **Update** we just laid down to go to sleep and the pillows smell disgusting! Do not come to this place, you will very likely regret it. On a positive note the breakfast spread was exceptionally well laid out.
