Owners wife came down from her private floor at 21:30 to scream and threaten to kill us if we didn't leave and out get quiet. We were having pretty normal conversations. The rules clearly stated to be quiet after 10 and we were preparing to leave for the night. No way to treat your guests. If you don't want youth doing youth things, stop marketing as a youth hostel. Other than that there was a shortage of showers and toilets. No drinks were allowed in the common room but the bar was never staffed. The rooms were clean but the bunk beds were in no way good hostel beds. No privacy curtains no power outlets for the top beds. Some rooms had a sink others had the great luxury of windows. The worst probably was the temperature. Both the common rooms and the bedrooms seemed to be exactly as cold as the outdoors. When sitting inside most never took their coats off. I understand heating a place up to 21 degrees is too expensive for most, but anything above 16 would've been nice!

I booked for a bed in a female room - I was extremely shocked by the condition of my bed, there were flies that had been slapped against the wall which was the ceiling of my bed, and clearly nobody even bothered to clear the flies. I was seeking for a refund but the receptionists said this was not possible, and was told to email the hostel owner. After emailing, they don't even bother replying. The bathrooms were not clean and and the bedsheets had small black residuals scattered everywhere. I opened the safety lockers inside the room and similarly I can only see dirt/dust to the point that I did not use any of them. When I decided to leave early than what I have booked for, I told the receptionist (on Xmas day) about the situation, she acted passively aggressively, and said ‘Give me the key then.’ The cleanliness of this hostel is deeply unacceptable, shame on them.

Seven of us stayed three nights in an eight bedroom dorm. The staff was friendly. The location was good, on a quiet road only a 5 minute walk to the centre. The whole place was pretty run down, didn't feel like a nice place to hang out. The rooms were also run down, and very warm. The sheets were clean but you had to fit them yourself. The window only opened slightly. The curtains were half broken which meant a lot of sunlight came in in the morning. There were also a few mosquitos which bit some of us quite badly. Waking up too hot and bitten was not enjoyable. The facilities are lacking and not clean. There are not enough showers and toilets and they are not very nice. The free coffee runs out by 9am.

The rooms were pretty dirty and the bedding was worse. There was a sink in the room but no soap and only one toilet for the entire floor (multiple rooms per floor). The whole place was very noisy too as I could clearly hear people through the walls and doors shutting throughout the building. The staff was nice enough and there were no people partying but I would not recommend it until the clean it up and offer clean bedding.

Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience in this hostel. The bathrooms were very dirty and they did not provide anything to dry hands, so the environment was always wet. The bed sheets and mattress had dirty stains on them. At 3 am, the fire alarm went off for maybe 15 minutes, I read in other reviews that this had already happened before, and it seems that nothing was done to fix it. It was very difficult to find someone in the reception. Everytime we needed, we had to wait for at least 15 min, which is very inconvenient when you have a limited time to explore the city. We had to leave our luggage in the hostel after checkout, and the room is freely accessible to anyone, and the hostel says they don't hold any responsibility for any theft inside the room. I would not recommend this place at all. Spend a bit more money in something better, even if it is a bit farther, Brugges is small and you can do everything by foot.
