Arrived at 01.45 to be told hotel was closed and we would have to walk with our luggage to another hotel 1km away. No prior notice. After negotiations with receptionist who had no English, via Google translate, allowed to stay for one night. Exposed electrics in bathroom, no hot water and leaking shower tray. We were asked to leave in morning and walked to 'sister hotel'. Told if we wanted breakfast for our stay (paid for) we would have to walk back to Hotel De Gale every morning. Sister hotel was worse - broken furniture, mould on ceiling and overpowering smell of grease from the room's awful kitchenette. No balcony or sea view as paid for. Contacted Love Holidays who said the would contact supplier and get back to us very shortly. Booked into different hotel at own expense. Now 24 hours later and still no response from Love Holidays. Wow.

In short: don't pay over 30 euros per night. We were quite disappointed as we paid 90 euros per night in July. The positives: friendly staff, ocean views from terrasse, recent coffee machine. The negatives: manager yelling at staff, other guests behaving like absolute animals (yelling all night, slamming doors, running naked, peeing in elevator), staff ended up calling the police, but about 2 hours into the show. Shower drain did not work (2 mins shower = 2 min off for drain). Small, rusty piece of metal coming out of the bathroom floor. Exposed live wires. About half the hotel is underground (???), so you may or may not get a window to the outside, we didn't. We booked a room with a queen bed, we were given a room with 2 single beds with plenty of apologies. No A/C of course, 0 ventilation. They brought us a fan which they normally charge for, but it made so much noise and didn't work very well. Upon arrival, the staff asked us not to speak with the manager as he was in a very bad mood. They also explained there was a strict rule about outside food/beverages, but the hotel doesn't sell anything to eat. The bar has nice views, but is twice the price of any other bars you can find around. The staff could not describe what the breakfast was, just that most guests didn't really like it.

I have been 6 days in Hotel Gale Albufeira with my wife and our little daughter and it was fantastic . All the staff it was allways friendly the Receptionist, the cleaning lady’s and the breakfast people allways with smile Our Room it was clean and fresh every single day 👍🏼. They give us also a extra bed for our baby for free . We choose Hotel Gale because it’s close too the center and the elevator beach for the baby trolley it was a huge help . We are very happy . See you again . Obrigado

AVOID THIS PLACE!! we book this place because it was pretty affordable but we ended up paying a big price in headaches. This people here don’t even respect laws and we ended up in the police station filling a report for two reasons 1- one of the employees took my friends number from the computer and started texting her because he liked her and wanted to see her outside the hotel. We complain to the manager for the behaviour of the employee, violating her data privacy and he literally said those laws don’t apply in his hotel and basically blamed her. 2-we had suspicions that people were entering the room when were outside and one of the employees admitted that someone went in our room without our consent and the don’t disturb sing hand from the door to check if the security look was working (very creepy) We have been really scared sleeping here every night. Apart from the drama the hotel is falling apart, smells musty and it’s dirty and the breakfast is horrible only bread and old oranges. The last day one of the guests went mad and broke the reception computer, not sure what did they do to him but I heard that after arrival they wanted to charge him 200€ more
