I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Domspitzen. The location is excellent, just a few minutes walk from the main train station and cathedral. The room was a good size, but the bathroom was tiny. The staff were amazing-so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. Such a fantastic range of foods on the buffet and eggs to order as well. A great place to stay when in Cologne.

Only good part is location. First of all for check in you have to go to different location of hotel then come back to hotel with card. It took us 30min to find another mysterious hotel of theirs and the lady who was guiding wasnt even clearly giving rhe guidance. They should have mentioned that. They gave is 3rd floor and didn't even told us that lift is not working. We paid such expensive price and climbed our self to one of the worst risky stairs ever. Then heater in room was not working.

I'm an Asian who can't speak English. I was lonely traveling alone, but the staff was very kind and protected me. The receptionist and restaurant staff were polite. We had a wonderful trip in Germany. I was prepared for discrimination, insults and ruthlessness, but I had never experienced anything like that in Germany. I want to visit again after studying English. Germany is a country that I love because the people are kind and the nature is beautiful. There are many Germans living in my hometown, so I would like to help them if they are in trouble. There is nothing wrong with this hotel. But the lighting in the bed is very hot. I am worried about burns and fire.

Slightly old school feel about this hotel. Located just a few minutes walk from the cathedral. The bed was very comfortable, staff helpful and the variety and size of breakfast (including egg menu) was exceptional. Nicely decorated for Christmas. Negative side is the parking and rollerbed (if needed) is extra. As are (not the hotels fault) a tourist tax and energy surplus.
