Hotel Francisco I

This hotel is wonderful. Staff is friendly and helpful. Room is small but cozy and had everything I need. Conveniently located in main area where you can easily walk to main attractions. I also really like the balcony.

DO NOT stay at this hotel if you want air-conditioning during the Nov period of ‘winter’. I repeat, do not come to this hotel despite the overly positive reviews in here if you want air-conditioning! I had been struggling with the insane humidity and warmth in the room since I first stayed in this hotel. At one point, I woke up in the middle of the night because I was having difficulty in breathing as it seems like there was no air circulation. This is no exaggeration. The next morning, we went to the counter and asked for help to adjust the air-conditioning in the room. The Helpdesk concierge replied that they do not have air-conditioning during the winter. Only heater. This is the most insane and ridiculous thing I have encountered in my years of travel. In all hotels, there is proper air circulation and option for heating during winter. These sly buggers didn’t mention that at all when we first checked in that there is no air-conditioning during ‘winter’ in Nov. If you want air circulation, you need to switch on the heater and sweat yourself to death. When I switched off the heater, I can only feel minimal air being pumped out via the vent in the TOILET! The vent in the room doesn’t pump out air when u switch off the heater. I left 2 stars for this hotel because of a few things - location was great. Within walking distance to several good restaurants and tourist destinations. - the cleaning / maintenance staff do an immaculate job in tidying up and replacing the sheets. They will even coil your charging cables so that they are neat. - breakfast was great. Great variety, tastes great and they do vary the selection daily to keep things fresh. Kitchen staff will even offer to cook fresh omelettes for you. Very polite and helpful! I wonder why no reviews mention on the lack of air conditioning. It’s absurd. If you can’t sleep well at night, the best breakfast in the world won’t help! It is 151am now and I am writing this review as I can’t fall asleep. I have left the windows open as I had turned the heater off and there is no air circulation. Opening the window will also mean I get disturbed by the mad noise from the street. There is some bar / pub place downstairs nearby and the noise only subside when it is close to 130am. I have also left the toilet door open as they still have some air circulation pumping out of the tiny vent in the toilet. Please upvote my review here so that other travelers come into this hotel fully aware of their insane air conditioning policy. If you are writing a review for this hotel, please be honest and upfront - list out the cons of this hotel so that other travelers benefit from actual real useful information. DO NOT stay here unless you verify with the hotel that they have air conditioning during your period of stay. Absolutely downright disgusting and lack of transparency on the hotel’s part in not disclosing this to guests during check in.
