Had high expectations for our 2 night stay at La Ninfa. Arrived to a very welcoming hotel manager who showed us to our room with a balcony. Views were spectacular from the balcony. After arriving we had an issue which the manager sorted out for us very promptly. We were delighted with the outcome. This hotel has the potential to be fantastic if they could get the basics right with a few things. 1) For a room costing nearly £250 a night you would expect the air conditioning to be working. The room was not habitable from sunrise to sunset due to the windows creating a greenhouse effect. The temperature in the room soared to over 35 degrees and was extremely uncomfortable. The air conditioning simply didn't work to reduce the heat. 2) Fridge was not cold enough to store drinks to enjoy out in the balcony. Simple thing to provide a cold fridge. Not even a glass supplied in the room for drinks. 3) There is a bar upstairs, but no one was around to serve anything. Looked like it was there for show. 4) Breakfast was very basic with very small coffee and fruit juice.

My partner and I found la Ninfa a wonderful place to stay in Amalfi. The location is exquisite, a 20 minute walk into Amalfi and a 5 minute walk down to the beach (expect stairs). The hotel was superb and clean, with a lovely daily breakfast service (with the best view) and extraordinary service from staff. Marco, our host, was constantly making sure we were comfortable, giving us great restaurant recommendations and even booking us a private driver to take us to the airport. Can't wait to revisit.

Very lovely hotel. Excellent service, clean rooms. Marco was very nice and professional. Amazing views at the balcony room nr 5. Will definitely be staying here again when in Amalfi.
