I didn't book a room at this location, rather the restaurant at this location was recommended by the owner's brother, Carlos, who also happens to run Caribbean Winds Tours (another great recommendation). As for the restaurant, the food was amazing and some of the best cuisine dishes I have ever tried. The entire staff went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience. Highly recommend and worth the price.

Noisy and loud from bar until close to midnight as staff play music after 10 pm while closing up. Rooms are small, old with big window walls that have no purpose and reduce privacy. There is no place to put more than one small bag, my luggage had to stick partway under the bed. the room smelled horrible like a urinal cake until I removed the scented thing hanging in the toilet. Air conditioner ran but temp couldn't be adjusted so we needed blankets. TV turned on but picture was blurry. People in reception were probably the rudest we met during our entire time in Costa Rica. One of the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and I travel all over. No where near 4 stars. Only positive is you can see the volcano really well from the upper deck.

The location is amazing! The staff goes above and beyond to make sure we are safe. One staff member accompanied me to the ATM and bus terminal early in the morning to make sure I was safe. The rooms are great quality for the price and they are cleaned every day. There is also AC! I would recommend. Very safe.

We booked a 4 night stay. VERY clean minimalist rooms that could use an update- in room painting etc but especially the bed mattress. Breakfast was delicious. Staff was attentive and extremely friendly at all times. Unfortunately, we could barely get any sleep due this the mattress discomfort and moreso the extreme noise of the city traffic at all times of the night so we choose to cut our visit short by a day and lose the money we paid. We would not stay again due to the noise level and the discomfort if the bed.
