1 block from train station, hospitable owner, and safe area. If coming for Christmas markets, book directly thru hotel website and book by second week of October for best rate. Be aware however there is construction across the street (they worked thru Friday night but stopped by 20:00ish Saturday night). Also, the pillows in room 12 need replacing. But these are small things! Highly recommend.

I spent 2 nights at the hotel. I went for an event at the Lanxess Arena, which is 5 min walking distance. The hotel is also at a very short (and beautiful) walking distance from the city centre, and with easy access to public transport (train and tram). In the area you can also enjoy quite a few nice and local coffee shops. The service was magnificent and very welcoming. I am very happy with having selected this hotel for my stay in Cologne and I highly recommend it. Avoid any hotels in the area and/or in the city centre (again, this is very close to the centre even though in a quiet area) and pick this one if you have the chance.

Clean, quiet room. Very friendly and helpful staff. We loved the location. Very short walk to the train station and easy to walk to the Koln Cathedral.
