Good value for money in a good location (20 minutes walk to the Dome, or some 10-15 to the old town hall). Wardrobes and some of the lobby furniture looks rather worn out as it is an old hotel. Inside our room besides the wardrobes ( which were spacious enough) everything else was in very good condition. Comfortable double bed, modern bathroom, blackout curtains and all was spotlessly clean. Late check-ins are possible since they use key codes to unlock all doors so we were messaged the codes upon arrival and everything went fine despite reaching the hotel at 23:00 on a day when there was nobody at the reception in the late evening. The parking options on the other hand are a bit of a rip off and you are better off with public parking. 15 euro per night per parking in an open area where it says park at your own risk is a bit of a rip off. My advice, if you drive there, sort out parking on your own and the stay should be pleasant and good value for money!

My room was very small, I dont know if the other rooms are same. I was very tired and wanted to sleep in the room but there was no air conditioning in the room and the temperature was 39 degrees. Receptionist told me that nights are better and I can also open the window, like a joke 🙂 They said that building is historical and they dont let construction on the building but there is always solution, they can find salon type air conditioners, etc. There was nothing free at the lobby to serve guests like water, coffee, tea, etc. May be it is German style but a bottle of water (also a Spice of limon inside) can create a good reputation like the other hotels do 😉

The thing that was nice was that it was close to the city center. Otherwise, the room was super small (for 2 people above average high it felt almost claustrophobic), bed very bouncy when one of us would move, bed sheets felt like paper. Our shades for the window didn’t work and the little dark curtain barely covered the window. The bathroom didn’t have a proper door, it was all glass and not much privacy when sitting on the toilet. For hygienic reasons they said they do not do room service which in my opinion is just them being cheap. We did not book the breakfast option so no comment on that.

It was a great experience to stay there in Bamberg! The hotel was about 10-15 minutes walk from the center. Just a regret: I went there with my girlfriend but there were two separated beds impossible to get closer, so we were forced to sleep separately. On the online booking it was clearly written "double bed", so we expected to find it as a single bed. No problem, I'm sure it was just a mistake. After all, it's truly advisable.

This would have been a three star review based on the property and service: we paid €159 for a double room on a fest weekend, finding that the room was insufferably hot but the street noise if we opened the windows made it equally difficult to sleep (even with earplugs). The room design is a little strange -- dated, but with an ultramodern glass bathroom with color-customizable lighting that showcases all goods to your roommate or the neighbors when the room door is open. What was really sad, though, was that we came to Bamberg for the fest but arrived a little late (around 10:30) and the reception told us the fest was closing at 11, so we went to bed disappointed at missing it. We visited the next morning, however, and learned that the fest had in fact been open until 1am! Wrong information is worse than just saying "I don't know!"
