We liked our stay at the hotel. The staff was helpful and location was perfect, quite close to two different modes of transport. The rooms were basic, but spacious and clean. It was value for money for us. We definitely recommend.

I do not recommend hotel Oya, and here's why. The room was average with the old-looking furniture, and didn't seem to be ventilated lately. The bathroom was quite large, but rather smelly, and the tiles on the floor looked quite dirty. The weird thing is that the bathroom was equipped for disabled persons, and we didn't ask for that. I did the check-in online, and we arrived around 1 PM that day. Since check-in is available starting from 3 PM, we asked if there was a chance our room was already available. The male worker at the reception checked and informed us that the room wasn't ready yet. It was the New Year's eve, and we got back to the hotel after midnight. The main entrance was locked. There was a note on the door with a phone number to call. We tried to call it a few times but no one was picking up. The reception is visible from the street and we could see there was absolutely no one behind the desk. So, basically we were locked out without any way to get into the hotel. We then tried to knock on the door, but to no avail. Eventually, after almost half an hour of waiting, a guy showed up and finally opened the door for us. There was no apology, nothing like that at all. Instead, he started to argue with us for coming so late?! He said the check-in was until 11 PM. I tried to explain that we did the check-in online, that we arrived earlier that day, before the room was ready, and we weren't given the key to our room. I later noticed that the other guests used their key cards to unlock the main entrance door. So, without that card, and without someone being available at the reception, there was simply no other way to enter the hotel and access the room. Another receptionist was also present, he was kind, professional, and didn't get involved in the argument. It was late, we were all tired, and I didn't want to waste any more energy and time to explain that we, as their guests, are not to be blamed for being left without the key and not being able to enter the hotel in the middle of the night. As soon as we were given the key, we just took our luggage, left the reception and headed to the room. The whole point here is that the first time we arrived we weren't told that a card was needed to get into the hotel, and that there wouldn't be anyone at the reception after 11 PM, or after a certain time. In any case it would be only normal to expect that there will be someone available at the reception 24/7. Let's just say a guest walks out of the hotel at night and forgets to bring their key card, or loses it, or it gets stolen. How are they supposed to get back into the hotel if there's nobody at the reception to open the door for them? What's the point of leaving a note with a phone number attached to the door if there's no one to answer the call? So, no, it is not your guests fault for being left locked out on the street in the middle of the night with no key or no other way to enter the hotel. It is also unacceptable to treat and talk to your guests the way one of the hotel's employees did that night. For anyone desperate enough to book a room at this place, it's worth mentioning there's a tram stop right in front of the hotel. It takes around 15 minutes to reach the center. Metro station is also close, within a 5-minute walk.
