My first impression of the lobby was that it was spacious and clean, although it didn't have a spectacular design. The service at this place was excellent right from the start. We were greeted with a drink and checked in promptly, with a pleasant upgrade to our room. Speaking of the room, it was also clean and spacious, but I have to admit that the decor was quite standard and the bed wasn't very comfortable. There were plenty of areas to get a drink, including a 24-hour bar and plenty of liquor in our own room. The hotel had four restaurants in total, including two menu-order restaurants for dinner. Usually, the food at the menu restaurants is better, but I felt like they served the same standard of food as the buffet restaurant. The Italian restaurant was probably the best out of all the options. The staff were very attentive and the entertainment staff always made an effort to get guests involved and organized activities throughout the day. One of the best features of staying here is that guests have access to two other Riu resorts, where they can enjoy all the amenities. The highlight of the week is the neon or white party, which takes place every Friday at the Tequila Riu resort. It's a big party where guests from all the Riu resorts come together. Considering the price range, this place is definitely worth it and I would probably choose to stay here again.

From the time we arrived to the time we had to leave the service was incredible. The resort is clean, rooms are more than adequate, the food was very good ( for an all inclusive) and there was a good variety of restaurants to choose from. The Beach and pool areas were fantastic and something I will miss seeing. The staff always had smiles on their faces and went over and above to make sure your stay was enjoyable .. huge shout out to the swim up pool bar staff!!! Location is great and within a short taxi ride to downtown Playa Del Carmen and close to many outdoor activities and attractions. I will DEFINITELY be back. Thanks for an amazing trip for my son and I. AAAAAA++++++!!!!!!

Rooms were spacious but amenities were minimal and basic for a 5 star hotel. Shower Pressure was not very good. Vegetarian food not much variety but some of the staff really tried to do their best to help. All staff were very friendly and helpful including the cleaning staff, waiting staff. But if you ask for anything more than reception just say no Very far from centre and expensive to travel to. The beach is quite clean and hardly any sea weeds. Although very limited non motorised sports included in all inclusive.

The rooms are small and simple. Nothing special for a 5* hotel. The rooms are really close to the common areas where they do animation so if you are planning to have rest during the day or good sleep, this is not your hotel. The hotel was overbooked when we arrived and they told us to relocate. We refused and they gave us a room and the cleaner was still indoors cleaning. The staff at the reception was rude and blaming us for being overbooked. The front desk manager said “the reason why we didn’t have a room was because we were talking to him” 🤣 The gym is falling apart. I can’t recommend this place.
