Hotel Tautermann

I have to agree with the other reviews. Not expensive but not worth what you pay for. Old decor, paper thin walls, and very basic bathroom. The location is nice and the staff helpful.

Good: - staff was great; very friendly and helpful. - clean rooms, comfortable pillow and mattress (for my standards) - location - very close to the city centre, only a short walk away! - breakfast okay, nothing special but enough to fill you up. Coffe machines are great. - for an old house, the hotel is in a good condition. The furniture looks a bit old, but has its charm. Bad: - shower will switch from hot to cold water by itself randomly, have fun. - windows in the bathroom (room 25) are completely see trough without any protection/tinted glass. The neighbors from higher floors acroos the street could potentially see you shower ... - very thin walls, you will be able to hear the people upstairs walking, babies crying etc. etc. - the church nearby will wake you up at 7am (if not earlier) when the bells really get going. -only three sockets (if you include the one behind the TV) in a room for 5 people. - parking is chaotic and not guaranteed; they have a very narrow driveway where cars have to be parked one after another and you have to leave the keys at the reception in case anyone from the back needs to get out and your car is in the way. The parking holds probably about 10 cars only, so it might happen that you'll have to park away from the hotel (and pay of course). I do not recommend this hotel for people who travel by car! This point is also clearly advertised by the hotel so really keep that in mind. Things that are not Hotel's fault, but are disturbing and I just want to point them out as a precaution: The elderly man across the street from the hotel's entrance would walk around his apartment naked, clearly making eye contact with us (5 women in their 20s) while dropping the towel and exposing himself. Best keep the courtains overlooking that side of the street closed in case your room is on that side of the hotel! He was also seen standing in the dark, close to his windows while we were chatting in front of the hotel. Overall, the hotel was satisfactionary, but not excellent. I would say worth the price so don't expect too much. Taking care of the bathroom situation (hot&cold shower, windows) would already improve the stay greatly. The rest is not much they can do about, but a future guest should be aware of what they are booking. A solid 3/5 star stay.
