First off, we don't spend much time at our hotels when traveling as we are up early and out exploring. The location was perfect! The hotel is a small family run business. The rooms seem to be getting updated as we saw workers while we were there. Our room was a triple room and it def could use an updating but everything was clean so we really couldn't complain. There was a great bakery around the corner and a little grocery across the street which we frequented. Overall, not lap of luxury but enough so you can rest your head at night and spend on the things you really want to do in Paris.

I paid for a 5 night stay in full in advance through Expedia. It was over $800 which was already pretty steep for this 2-star hotel. Upon checking out, I was handed a bill for a 5 night stay which was over €600. When I showed the receptionist the receipt proving that I had already paid for my stay in full, she ignored me completely and insisted I had to pay again. She also refused to use Google translate to make sure we understood each other without confusion. I do not recommend this place. As far as I’m concerned, this is either extreme negligence or just a scam, plain and simple. Whether they double charged me on purpose or not, they displayed a lack of professionalism and care that frankly disappointed and disgusted me. Do not stay at this hotel. EDIT: The hotel has taken responsibility for the mistaken charge, but they have not issued a refund yet after a week of calling. Every time I call, they say “tomorrow, we need to call our bank,” and I have received zero responses to my several emails. It doesn’t seem that they feel any urgency to resolve this issue, and they just want to hold my money. I now have no remaining confidence that they are a legitimate or trustworthy business. Do not stay here.

I really enjoyed our stay at this quaint 2-star hotel. Well located near the Jardin du Luxembourg on a very quiet street across from a grocery store, Hotel Jean Bart was perfect for the price. Luckily the summer weather in Paris was bearable during our stay as a lack of AC could have been a disaster! The rooms are small and with French windows opening inwards did make it difficult to close curtains while still getting airflow. The breakfast was AMAZING and well worth the price. The hosts were friendly and took care of all our needs. I will not hesitate to book here again in the future!
