Hyatt Place Chicago/Downtown - The Loop

This was one of the worst visits I've ever had to a hotel. When checking in, we were told they weren't sure our room was ready. To come back in 5-10 min. We parked the car which ended up being $70 for the day and the half we were there. When we came back, they still weren't sure if the room was ready, but offered a free beverage. Within 2 minutes someone came down and said the room was ready. It was a nice room, but we needed the sofa bed and there was no linens for it. I called and they said it would be awhile since there were a lot of rooms in front of us. We waited in the room for an hour before leaving to go venture, figuring the linens would be in the room when we got back. When we got back, there was no linens and we had to call down again. The front desk staff was highly inappropriate that night swearing, and talking about drinking with guests. It was something I've never experienced before from front desk staff. I was waiting for our food to be delivered in the hotel lobby. The next morning, we decided to go to the pool. We called the front desk to see if there were towels provided they said yes. When we got down there, there were no towels but the garbage can that held the towels was overflowing. The pool is covered in a hard metal bumpy surface which is so weird and uncomfortable for me. The kids didn't care. I was hoping the towels would be filled, but after 45 minutes of them not being filled, I called my husband and asked him to tell the front desk. They responded with, "We are aware" and left it at that. We ended up having to go upstairs dripping wet since there were no towels ever brought. Once upstairs I called about a laundry bag that most hotels provide in the closet for dirty laundry, with our suits soaking wet, I knew we'd need a bag as we needed to check out in the next hour. I was told yeah they're at the front desk. I was dripping wet and did not want to go downstairs and asked if it could be brought up to us and was told we'll yeah, but it'll take awhile, we need to wait for housekeeping to get here. It was 9:45 am so not sure why it wasn't already there. The alarm also went off at 6 am and then continued going off until we unplugged it because we couldn't figure it out. The beds were nice, but that's about the only nice thing I have to say about the place.
