InterContinental Abu Dhabi by IHG

We stayed at the hotel for a week in January 2024 (we celebrated the New Year). The hotel is not 5 stars at all. A maximum of 3 and then - very tired. The rooms are terribly old, dark (no overhead light) and dusty. We occupied 4 rooms: someone had a window slightly open, someone did not. There is no way to sleep with air conditioning (it blows on the bed), the window cannot be opened - it is stuffy. We lived in a room with three people (2 adults and a child). I had to be reminded about the extra bed twice and for the first few days I just had to beg for towels for three! They persistently left 2. There is nothing additional in the bathroom (cotton pads and chopsticks, toothbrushes) - everything is on request. The water in the shower was barely flowing (we lived on the 7th floor). The shower is narrow, with cracked tiles. The room rate included breakfast and lunch or dinner (half-board). A very opaque system of drinks for lunch/dinner: alcohol is available for an additional fee, and EITHER cold drinks OR hot drinks are included (one or the other). Although depending on the waiter, we were sometimes allowed to drink both :) But the food is just great! Almost everything is delicious (the Russian chef Ilya is at the hotel, so there was even borscht for dinner once!). There was no separate table with food for children. A huge minus is the queues for breakfast and dinner (the hotel was fully occupied for the holidays - maybe that's why). The sea is not a sea, but just a puddle! The water often goes away. Everything is quite expensive on the beach (a cup of coffee is about 10 euros) if you don't have all-included. About 10 cats live on the beach. The staff tries their best on the beach, everything is different at the reception)) We left the hotel around midnight (with a paid breakfast the next morning) and asked if breakfast could be changed for lunch - they refused us, but offered take-away-breakfast and gave us order forms. When we brought the completed forms, another employee had already refused to take breakfast with us)) The location of the hotel is quite good. Right on the territory of the hotel there is a marina and a small promenade - great for an evening walk.

The trip was amazing, but the service was even better in specific this one employee named Rezaul Sheikh, This man provided the most excellent outstanding service ever he cleaned our room, made it spotless, provided any amenities we needed and made sure we As comfortable as possible, this man deserves the World. He has a beautiful family, and he works as hard as possible, putting everything he earns to provide for them. Please make sure this man is taken care of, and make sure he is treated with respect.
