The hotel is newly opened in November 2023. We stayed here for 2 nights with IHG Ambassador status so we got upgraded from normal deluxe to moutain view. The staff is a little bit inexperienced. It took forever for the room to get ready though we informed the arriving time. Always took a big while to get something we requested. Despite this, all staff tried their best to go above and beyond. Kids club and kids pool are very good. I think this hotel is one of the best in town that is kid-friendly. We would love to come back again once it is more ready.

The rooms' décor are nice with great sound isolation. We didn't hear the hallway or neighboring rooms at all, which was great and rare. The food was amazing, especially the breakfast offering many options thoughtfully catered to different palates while highlighting the local specialties. The rooftop restaurant would have been cool if it were open. The staff was helpful, particularly Amy and the Food and Beverage Manager who took care of an issue we had efficiently. The concierge was helpful too giving us recommendations for restaurants and massage places that were great and much more reliable than the ones we found through google reviews.

The culinary experience at the hotel is a gastronomic delight. The restaurants offer a diverse range of cuisines, each dish meticulously crafted to perfection. The breakfast buffet is a highlight, featuring a wide array of options to suit every palate. I am looking forward for the rooftop pool and bar that will be opened in February, provide a breathtaking panoramic view of Chiang Mai. In conclusion, InterContinental Chiang Mai will be a five-star gem that delivers on every aspect of luxury and hospitality. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking an unforgettable stay in Chiang Mai.

Stayed Jan14-17 Security failed(Elevator can access to all floor without access card, unwanted visitors can direct go in front of my room to meet me escorted by hotel staff) Bathroom flooded due to wrong sliding door design(Duty manager arrange and took four hours to fix it. So we have to leave the room and find so where to stay for four hours) Bathroom odor(Room 1205 bathroom has a very bad smell. Three management level staff included two Duty Managers and Room Division manager experienced and admitted it. The Room Division Manager Mr. “On Shim” and hotel staff took two times and total four hours trying to fix it but failed, So we again have to leave the room and find so where to stay for four hours) All of the above issues was found since Hotel opening and well known by the General Manager Peter and Room Division Manager of the hotel. Both of them admitted but still searching for solutions and “Welcome any advise” They did not fix it before guest arrive and cause guest suffered. This is how we should expect. Common restroom failed(After 10 times experienced every time while entering Male Restroom, there are few female staff gossiping loudly which is very unpleasant, I decided to report this to the General Manager and he fixed it) Credit card deposit refund failed(Room Division Manager guided staff to provide false information to me that hotel already refunded, with a normal Credit Card Merchant Transaction Copy without a Minus symbol. After a few calls and attempts, they fixed it, but this show the hotel very unprofessional handling Credit cards. Do aware of it. The hotel General Manager promised to send an email to arrange for future stay but failed to do so. That’s it, wow, what an IC!
