Loved my stay at this hotel. Location is top notch and the service. Christian, the bartender knew how to make great drinks and very personable. Definitely ask for him when you’re at the hotel lobby bar. If I happen to be back in Lima, I would stay here again!

TLDR: good but not great. Stayed at the JW 3 times during my trip to Peru. On the plus side, the housekeeping and service staff are wonderful. The location is prime, right across from the Lacomar Mall and on a great street for running/cycling. The rooms are comfortable, the shower and bath are great. I utilized room and laundry services, and although they are incredibly expensive, the service was good. Not so great - the majority of the hotel has been under renovations for a couple years. Seems to be hit or miss whether you actually hear the construction. My first two stays, I heard nothing. My last stay, it was loud construction all day long. I also had challenges getting the actual room I booked, often being asked to wait beyond checkin time and then put in a room that was not what I booked. Also, the windows are incredibly dirty, which really impacts being able to enjoy the view. Between here and the Westin, I prefer the JW strictly based on the location but I wouldn’t classify it as a 5 star hotel.

2nd time staying there and will never stay anywhere else. Traveled here with our elderly parents and felt safe and secure. Everyone is super accommodating and the service is impeccable. The rooms were clean and luxurious. The location is central to everything. You have the ocean, Larcomar, tons of restaurants and shops. Also, the hotel has plenty of lounge areas that make it easy to meet up with friends and family. The food is delicious as well. The only thing I would change is to have the restaurant inside offer a full sit down dinner option. Either way, the BEST place to stay in Lima.
