The JW Marriott Grand Lakes in Orlando offers a mixed experience for travelers. The hotel's lobby is lovely, creating a welcoming atmosphere as guests arrive. The grounds are notably beautiful, with a particularly enchanting lantern-lit path by the water that adds a touch of magic to evening strolls. The pool areas and slides are great, providing fun and relaxation for all ages. However, the experience is not without its flaws. The check-in process was marred by a grumpy staff member who failed to provide essential hotel details, starting the stay on a sour note. Additionally, the room presented its own set of problems, with an unpleasant sewage odor and poor sound insulation, allowing noise from neighboring conversations to intrude on the peace. On the dining front, the food quality was high, but the service in the restaurant left much to be desired. We faced constant mistakes and excuses, detracting significantly from the dining experience. In contrast, the Starbucks staff stood out for their exceptional service, providing a bright spot in the hotel's hospitality. In summary, while the JW Marriott Grand Lakes boasts beautiful grounds and facilities, the service inconsistencies and room issues significantly impact the experience. It's a place with great potential but also lots of notable areas for improvement. It’s a decent Marriott or Renaissance property but it is NOT a JW.

We had a wonderful weekend at the JW. The lobby is gorgeous, and we enjoyed the public spaces very much. We used the lobby bar both nights- bartenders were extremely friendly and really enhanced the experience. Dinner at Primo was fantastic! We walked over to the lobby bar in the Ritz for an after dinner drink and round of cards, and again, the ambience and service could not have been better. It is so nice to have both hotels’ amenities available. The bodega and Starbucks are great options for a healthy, quick breakfast and good cup of coffee. The room was beautifully appointed, with excellent toiletries and extremely comfortable bed! We didn’t have time to use the pools, but the whole area is beautiful and we will definitely make a point of some pool time there in the future. Lunch at the pool bar upon our arrival was excellent. We will definitely put this hotel high on our list for our frequent trips to Orlando!

We stayed here over New Years and it was absolutely lovely. The staff is phenomenal - everyone incredibly nice and accommodating. Rooms were pristine. Pool area is a great time for kids! Note this is a drive away from the parks - and during the evening there is traffic to get back to the hotel. But a great option for families.

Wow this hotel is gorgeous!! And it’s connected to the Ritz Carlton. This hotel is Immaculately clean, beds are super comfortable, staff are friendly and warm. There is so much to do here from obstacle course, water slides, lazy river and 3 big pools. My kids had a blast. With this hotel you also have access to Ritz Carlton pool, kids splash pad, and games. The grounds are beautiful to tour and it’s so romantic. We had an amazing time.

Pros: Nice rooms, well kept grounds, decent restaurants, if I had kids the lazy river and pool area seems solid. Gym is shared with the Ritz and is pretty good. Has everything you need. Ritz Spa was decent. Not worth the prices they charge since it’s a little tired/outdated but is relaxing. Cons: Poop/sulfur smell in room bathroom was unbearable at times. Def had to do with the water or sewage in building. Knife and Spoon restaurant in Ritz had good food but was not worth hype. Conference center rooms were ok but AV team struggled a lot which made the talks suffer. We live in Palm beach and prices were more expensive than there (25$ for a cocktail, 19$ for a glass of wine). Valet was struggling every time we called. Needed to charge EV and had to stay on them to get it done despite $55/day Valet charge. Overall 4/5.
