I stayed here for one night (thankfully) a couple of weeks ago and hated everything about the place except the staff serving breakfast, who were lovely. From the receptionist who was clearly annoyed by my arrival interrupting his Very Important Keyboarding, to the girl who escorted me to my room solely to point out all the stuff I could buy from them while I was there, to the many 'do not' rules. Whoever heard of 'no ironing'?! The extra star is for the breakfast staff. There might have been another for the fact that they contacted me quickly when they found my passport under the bed, but when I turned up to collect it they wanted to see photo ID to prove it was mine and were unconvinced when I pointed out they were already holding it. 'Thick' is barely adequate.

It is such a pleasure to stay at La Sabana Hotel, we look forward to excuses to visit San Jose so we can stay there. A beautiful, spacious suite with full kitchen is really affordable. The staff is so kind, helpful and pleasant. Breakfast is delicious, we eat outside in the gorgeous weather poolside. Casado vegano is amazing and the omelette look delicious as well. Espresso and cappuccino as you wish. I also use the sauna which is clean and pleasant.

Clean, cute, excellent service, all employees were genuinely kind and attentive. The room was great with a stove and fridge for a good price. The pool was very inviting with a cute waterfall feature. It was about 15 minutes from the airport, close to a large green space, restaurants, and services. We would definitely stay there again.
