You get what you pay for, location is very good, staff is friendly however the hotel is a bit dated. If you want better rooms than you have to pay two or three times more for the hotels at the same neighbourhood. If you can’t sleep due to noise, do not hire room looking at the main street. Walls are thin and there is a club across the street which you can hear all the music. I knew about this as I read in reviews here but I thought I will be staying Wednesday night, it should be calm, but no, club was open till 3 am and I could hear all they way from 7th floor.

This was our first time in Turkey and we stayed a week in Izmir based at the Marla Otel. We found it a great value hotel, the room was comfortable and clean. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Günes the bell boy was particularly helpful and went above and beyond to givd us lots of tips and suggestions for places to see or restaurants to try. Güneş English is really good and it added to our holiday experience to chat with him every day. Bersel was also ready with a smile to brighten your day and help in any way and her English is also excellent. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet every morning. There is a good choice of cheeses, salad, breads and cereal. There is also different specialty dishes that varied each day; fried eggplant in tomato sauce, potato dishes, sausage dishes ( I don't know what the dishes were called but the ones I tried were all tasty). Look out for the hotel cat that usually makes an appearance at some stage before she's whooshed back out the door!

Good afternoon. I would like to write a few words. I am a tourist from Russia. I don't know the local language. The staff is kind, friendly. The room is nice, spacious and clean. I will point out some shortcomings. 1. There is no soundproofing in the room. The walls are cardboard, I heard very well what was happening in the next room. I couldn't sleep on the first day of my stay. 2. Cold, the air conditioner was very noisy. And he didn't really do his job. 3. Breakfast disappointed me. The girls behind the bar did not pay any attention to my requests. The front desk staff work very hard to do an excellent job. Thank you.

We were able to book very last minute/late on a weeknight. Front desk staff was polite and respectful, and Ersin bey was incredible - helpful and very cheerful! Centrally-located hotel with basic rooms. We opted for a room with no view but it had a hammam! Highly recommend that experience. Management could pay more attention to mold on the bathroom ceiling and the humidity which has lifted the wallpaper in some places.
