Great location on 1st Avenue, between Calle 12 & 16, where you can see, smell & easily walk to the Caribbean Sea, just a few seconds walk to restaurants & 5th Avenue & within minutes of other great restaurants & the grocery store. But quiet due to the beautiful & relaxing waterfall that provided background ambiance. We loved the heated hot tub, the small pool & the luscious gardens. We spent our afternoon siestas relaxing on our patio, with frosty cocktails & board games. I even had a nap one afternoon on the leaf shaped lounger on our 2nd shady patio! Condo was kept in immaculate shape all week long by Sarita & her team. Bed made, always lots of towels, coffee filters, paper towel, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner & lotion. And Eric kindly brought us ice, twice! They really cannot do enough for you. Muchas gracias for making us feel at home. Of note, the pool heater was broken but we were offered use of the heated pool just up the street. We found the couch & bed quite firm & there were no mattress toppers available for the bed. None of that mattered in the end & we are already booked to go back for another stay at our oasis, our home away from home!

Words can’t explain how enjoyable & well spent our time here was. My wife visited in 2018 for our honeymoon and were happy to get back and see the place still well kept with great improvements!!! It comes fully decked out with a kitchen, pool and jacuzzi downstairs + another pool by the beach!!! The office opened 24 hours which made it super convenient if we ever needed help or just to change our beach towels and get fresh ones! The view from the roof overlooking Cozumel is very nice too! We recommend this place for couples, friends, families & even singles to enjoy a nice and quiet neighborhood just a stone throw from 5th Avenue! I almost forgot to mention the spa downstairs, very lovely service with competitive prices! If you’re looking somewhere to stay within Playa Del Carmen, look no further- this place has everything you’re looking for to make you feel at home away from home! ❤️

Staying at Maya Villa was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable experiences I've had while traveling in a different country. Tucked one street away from the hustle and bustle of 5th Ave, it is at a very convenient location but still has an exclusive, peaceful spa-like feel, with a beautiful unique pool and jacuzzi as the centerpiece of the inner courtyard. The room was very spacious and clean, and is complete with amenities, such as a TV, a small kitchen with stove, a water dispenser, AC and fans. I also love the tasteful Mayan decor and architecture of the whole place - it's not overdone and corny like other similar places I've seen. The cleaning staff did a great job, and the security guard at the gate during the evenings provided an added sense of safety. Right next to the hotel is a delicious Asian restaurant (Kobma), and a spa (Maya Spa) where we had the most wonderful massage. The office which is located one block from the hotel provides clean towels for any beach or cenote excursions. In conclusion, it was incredible value for money and the entire stay was simply perfect.

Our room at Maya Villa was stunning and we have no cons regarding it... Our service however was unpromising. Check in was at 3 and we arrived a bit before that. The room was not ready yet - understandable. Before you know it we were waiting until 4:30 to receive our room. A weird way to start. Mexico itself is beautiful, and Playa Del Carmen had much walk ability along 5th ave. At the end of our trip, we were ready to check out. The man at the front said we had to retrieve something else from the room, which was not specified to us at the start of the trip. So we had to walk to go back. When we came back to the front desk, he needed something else. At this point I started to get a bit irritated. We still got it. Then another problem came up about transportation - mind you, we got a flight to catch. There was a delay and I started to react because since the start it has not been ideal. The man goes outside, and with the basic Spanish comprehension I have, we were able to figure out he was calling me aggressive of some sort. We eventually got transportation but unfortunately service brought this rating down.
