While rooms were small, they were pretty new inside. Hotel overall was in really good shape and the staff was very helpful and friendly. On site dining was exceptionally good. Location is also perfect. Parking is slightly challenging on the arrival as the garage entrance is behind the hotel. Would gladly stay again.

This hotel is very cloth to the cathedral, the town centre or all the sightseeing itineraries are within walkable distance. The hotel restaurant provides a good quality food, the staffs are friendly. If I come back to Freiburg, I’ll definitely stay here again.

Stayed there for only one night. Comfy beds, very clean. Would like a better alcohol selection in the lobby though:) The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great experience.

An excellent choice when visiting the old city of Freiburg. Clean, modern, with excellent service staff. The breakfast buffet is one of the best I have encountered. Within walking distance of the Cathedral and a great view of the Schlossburg. Lots of restaurant choices nearby. Convenient bakery that serves breakfast in the Galeria attached to the hotel. I highly recommend the Mercure.

Great location, clean and comfy! Although the hotel restaurant closes rather early, there are a couple of late night restaurants within 5 minutes walking distance. The lobby has a limited selection of beverages available anytime, but no food. I arrived on a Saturday evening. As a medical courier, I have a cooler that requires ice. Unfortunately, the restaurant bar ice machine was broken. They'd hoped it would be repaired and returned the next day, which was Sunday, but it wasn't. All stores are closed on Sunday. The desk clerk suggested I try the store at the train station - not close enough to lug a cooler with only the possibility. I asked if perhaps they had an arrangement with a nearby hotel and could help me out. They didn't. I took it upon myself to go across the street to Motel One. I explained my dilemma and the bartender graciously filled the cooler without charge, and welcomed me back if I should need more.
